Blue Box Game Studios' developer Hasan Kahraman has taken to Twitter to share a video proving he isn't Hideo Kojima, once again affirming the legendary creator isn't d with the horror game, PlayStation 5's Abandoned. Announced in April, Abandoned was speculated to secretly be a Kojima game, and the notion took the internet by storm.
secret Kojima project, despite Blue Box repeatedly insisting this isn't the case. Digging by fans and gamers has revealed that yes, Blue Box appears to be a real company dating back to 2015. It's also been noted that it's a ed Dutch company, meaning its paperwork is very transparent and couldn't really be a shell for anything other than what it says on the tin. However, that nugget of reason hasn't stopped the theories, which are now reaching conspiracy level. Perhaps the most eyebrow-raising thing to note is that "Kahraman" translates to "Kojima" from Japanese to Turkish, which many have taken as "proof" that Turkish-Dutch Kahraman is indeed Kojima. While this certainly is bizarre, Blue Box and Kahraman are still denying the theories, with the developer posting a new video as proof that he isn't Kojima.
Taking to the official Twitter page for Blue Box Game Studios, Kahraman shared a short clip once again telling Abandoned fans that he's a real person and not the legendary Japanese developer.
"I just wanted to do a really quick video to show myself, that I'm a real person, and I'm not really associated with Hideo Kojima. I'm not an actor. I'm not working on Silent Hill. I just wanted to show you guys my face, and that I'm real."
The developer went on to announce a Q and A session will be announced soon, and while players will hopefully learn some new things about Abandoned, it's likely that fans are going to grill the company and its staff on the Kojima and Silent Hill rumors.
Sadly, it seems the rumors and conspiracy theories are likely to do more harm than good for Abandoned. While the game has certainly seen more interest than a number of recent indie games thanks to the speculation, it seems fans are still set on believing the game really is a new Silent Hill. If, as Blue Box says, the horror is nothing to do with Kojima or Silent Hill, there's going to be a huge number of disappointed players out there, despite having been told this all along.
Thankfully, horror gamers don't have too long to wait to find out more about Abandoned. The game is getting the Abandoned: Trailers app on June 25. While Blue Box has been pretty quiet on what the app will show, it's definitely one to check out, if only to put those Silent Hill and Kojima theories to bed once and for all.
Abandoned is coming to PlayStation 5 on an unspecified date.
