Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete gives players plenty of space to customize and decorate, but many fans are upset by the inability to place anything in the area surrounding the camper van. The mobile Animal Crossing title invites players and all 400+ villagers to the great outdoors and lets players design their dream campsite. Many design options exist for the campsite and hundreds of furniture and decorations can be placed to make the camp unique to each player.

However, building is restricted in one area of the camp around the player's camper van. Reddit stinky-cherry is trying to get fans to band together to ask Nintendo to make one final update to the title and remove the dead space or at least the grid surrounding the van. "What if we ALL got together and emailed the pocket camp creators about wasted space?" the Redditor asks.

Players Wish They Could Decorate Around It

Many Pocket Camp players have responded in agreement, stating that they would also like to be able to decorate around the van, where there is plenty of space to place a few things. "The dead space there drives me crazy," says Reddit whimsical_bliss. They add that they wish Nintendo would at least remove the grid around the van, which implies that items can still be placed there and makes it difficult to understand where players can and can't put items.

The most popular idea seems to be to give players the option to toggle being able to see the van on or off. This feature is available for every other element of the campsite, including the fence, camp sign, deck, and various tents and amenities. Others, like Stilltheonly1, with the van would be removed entirely and parked off-site somewhere, like with the game's cabin. As it is right now, says the Redditor, "It’s valuable wasted space."

Player and Redditor elder_flowers adds that the van doesn't make any sense when paired with certain camp layouts. "There are terrains with water," they state. "So, did I just park my camper in a big puddle or part of a lake? And it's floating there?" Being able to remove the van would give fans even more freedom of expression and open up the entire top left corner of the camp for placing more items for a more cohesive look.

Though The Free Game Is Gone, Nintendo Is Still Updating Pocket Camp

It might be difficult to get Nintendo to make any changes to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, since the game's developers are ramping down on developing and updating the title. The original Pocket Camp shut down in November, and Pocket Camp Complete is the offline, single-fee replacement. Nintendo will likely not update the game anymore past the last planned update, making it useless to email them asking for the change.

On the other hand, Nintendo plans to continue releasing new content for the mobile title in the coming year, despite ceasing development on further updates after that. This might mean that players might still have some luck in appealing to the makers of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete to do something about all the wasted space surrounding the camper van.
