Each season of Big Brother features new houseguests competing to win the prize. How well-received these houseguests are impacts the likability of the season in general. In some seasons, there is a clear favorite that fans root for from the beginning. In others, some houseguests initially gain favor with fans but later grow to be disliked.

In season 20 of Big Brother, there was a mix of houseguests who were well-liked and houseguests who fans couldn't stand. With a clear house divide, new twists, and a number of different strategies, this season kept fans waiting to see what happened next. When looking back on the season, it's easy to see which houseguests were more memorable and well-liked. Here they are from least favorite to fan favorite.

JC

It seems like every season contains one houseguest who creates controversy. On BB20, that houseguest was JC. While those watching the recorded show only may have enjoyed his manipulation and gameplay, those on the feeds called for his expulsion.

In several instances, JC was accused of sexual harassment by fans as he engaged in inappropriate touching and privacy violations of other houseguests.

Sam

Initially, fans found Sam to be funny. When she received a punishment that required her to live part of her time in the house as a robot, she gained sympathy from fans. But this sympathy quickly dissipated.

It became clear that Sam, a recruit, had no understanding of the game she was playing. It also became clear that she wasn't very interested in being on the show and she regularly tried to self-evict, despite being in a decent spot in the game. This had fans frustrated that Sam would take a spot in the house when there are so many others who would do anything to get on the show and left her generally disliked by all.

Brett

Brett is a houseguest that fans loved to hate. He was arrogant, obnoxious, and explosive. Brett regularly used ridiculous tactics to confuse the opposing alliance, intentionally drawing attention to himself and creating controversy.

This led to many memorable moments for Brett, especially as his plan -- which differs from the typical gameplay of keeping attention off of yourself -- kept him around for a decent amount of time. Still, many found Brett to be rude and abrasive, making it difficult to root for him.

Steve

Steve was a houseguest that fans were excited to see in the game. This former undercover cop planned to use his skills from the job to make it far in the house. Unfortunately, fans never got a chance to see how Steve would play the game.

In a shocking first week blindside, Tyler convinced others to vote out Steve instead of Sam as he found himself closer to her. Fans were disappointed to see this promising player out so quickly and wondered what would have been different had week one gone as planned.

Winston

Winston was a member of the level 6 alliance who was evicted early on in the game. His plan was to lay low and surround himself with players who would detract attention from him.

While this worked the first few weeks, he quickly became a target. When put on the block next to his ally Brett, Winston was voted out, giving fans only a short amount of time to get to know this houseguest.

Rachel

Rachel is probably best ed for her hilarious outburst, "What's wrong with Angela?" Rachel tried to play a loyal game but when information was misconstrued, her alliance turned on her.

Viewing her as emotional and erratic, they voted Rachel out of the house. While many fans found Rachel to be hilarious, she did little in the game and was actively working against many fan-favorites.

Angela

Angela was considered by many to be the villain of the season. This fierce competitor was an active member of the level 6 alliance. She formed many close relationships and dominated in competitions, winning 3 HOH competitions and 2 Power of Vetos.

Angela also developed a relationship with fan-favorite Tyler, though both of them were smart enough to keep this budding showmance a secret from their fellow houseguests. Though many were rooting against her, fans couldn't help but respect Angela's impressive gameplay.

Swaggy C

Swaggy is probably best ed for his proposal to fellow houseguest Bayleigh on finale night. The two quickly became close in the game and it seemed like Swaggy was going to be a formidable houseguest.

Swaggy formed a major alliance and won two out of the first three competitions of the season. This painted a huge target on his back, one that was made larger by his conflict with former alliance member Kaitlyn. Though Swaggy was evicted early, he certainly made an impression on fans.

Rockstar

Rockstar is one of the most memorable houseguests. Her eccentric personality and outbursts had fans laughing hysterically. She was part of the underdog alliance FOUTTE which was quickly decimated.

Rockstar made several mistakes that had fans screaming at the screen, such as giving Tyler the answer during the OTEV competition. Her rivalry with Brett kept fans entertained and hoping to see more of Rockstar on their screens.

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn kept fans on their toes as they never knew what she was going to do next. Though she always believed herself to be playing the game in a way that benefited her the most, she made several decisions based on emotions that caused others to turn on her.

Kaitlyn caused some controversy as fans perceived her to be flirting with men in the house, despite having a long time boyfriend back home. But at the end of the day, Kaitlyn was entertaining, engaging, and willing to make moves that she thought would better herself in the game. What more could one want from a houseguest?
