Cults and religion play a major role in the story and setting of Far Cry 5, and Ubisoft likely looked at some real-world examples when creating The Project at Eden's Gate.

Far Cry 6 improves upon its predecessor in various ways, and it fixes one of the biggest issues from Far Cry 5. The new title changes a lot of the gameplay mechanics while maintaining the overall feel and familiarity players associate with the Far Cry series. Some of the changes actually return Far Cry 6 to previously praised gameplay options, like the way the story missions progress.
