Xenoblade Chronicles X is a truly phenomenal sci-fi JRPG that has taken the world by storm once more, thanks to the release of its Definitive Edition. Finally bringing it to the Nintendo Switch and completing the Xenoblade collection on that console, XBCX: Definitive Edition is a wonderful remaster that fixes some of the original game's problems and adds new content. Naturally, this Definitive Edition has a lot of eyes on it, with fans playing it for the hundredth time and newcomers experiencing the amazing world of Mira for the very first time. 4lj16

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition has a vast world you can explore, but knowledge about the land of Mira comes from increasing your Survey Rate across your map. Your Survey Rate percentage goes up when you complete various goals for investigating different regions. By raising your Survey Rate, you can unlock story progress and earn unique rewards, including some Credits and XP.

The impressive cast of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition can be attributed to the inclusion of four new characters you can recruit to your team throughout the game. These additions from the original are unique faces who can help you build a strong party to take on numerous challenges. Due to their strengths, each new party member may add something new that your team needs to succeed.

I adore the Xenoblade Chronicles series. I started with Xenoblade Chronicles 2, a game that absolutely blew my mind and remains my all-time favorite game, before sinking 100 hours into multiple playthroughs of the original Xenoblade Chronicles and its Definitive Edition remaster. Of course, when the third game came out, I leaped at the opportunity to play it, and two playthroughs later - and after beating its DLC - I've put roughly 400 hours into the entire series. However, despite my endless iration for what is, in my opinion, the greatest gaming series of all time, I've never played Xenoblade Chronicles X.

The issue of Xenoblade continuity is a complicated one, and Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition doesn't make it any easier. With a far more grounded, arguably more contemporary setting, Xenoblade X is incredibly different from the mainline trilogy. Although all four games have a science fiction slant, X's is by far the most pronounced, to the point that it could be called a spinoff instead of a sequel.

Nintendo has a lot of incredible franchises outside of Mario and Zelda, including the likes of Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Kirby, Star Fox, Xenoblade Chronicles, Pokémon, and so many more. All of these franchises have helped it become a developer and publisher known for its diverse experiences, thus allowing it to access an increasingly competitive market where variety is paramount to success. Xenoblade Chronicles, for example, offers a more mature and action-packed experience compared to Nintendo's mascot entries, while Animal Crossing provides its cozy output.

Xenoblade Chronicles has been my all-time favorite series for quite some time, with the second game in the series being, in my opinion, the greatest game ever made. There are really no other games like the Xenoblade series, with its commitment to anime-quality cutscenes, bombastic action, heartfelt moments, and grand sci-fi fantasy storytelling being rivaled perhaps only by Final Fantasy, and even then it doesn't come close, in my opinion. Xenoblade Chronicles is a one-of-a-kind series, and that's why I've dedicated so much effort to playing it.

The Wii U, despite its low sales and numerous flaws, had some truly incredible games launched for it, including the likes of Xenoblade Chronicles X, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3, and so many more. Naturally, due to the console's poor sales, the majority of these games were ported to the Nintendo Switch. This was an excellent decision both for Nintendo and the consumer, as more people got access to these great games, and Nintendo made a lot of money from porting its existing library.

Xenoblade Chronicles X was one of the last few games stuck on the Wii U, with fans of the Xenoblade Chronicles mainline trilogy dreaming of the day that it was ported. It offered one of the biggest open worlds in gaming, a vast swathe of fun activities to complete, mechs to fly about in, a controversial yet incredible soundtrack, and an epic sci-fi story with a custom protagonist.

The Xenoblade Chronicles franchise has been one of Nintendo's tent pole series, despite living in relative obscurity until recently. Despite successful sales with the original Xenoblade Chronicles, the series only really found great commercial success with the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3 on the Nintendo Switch and the re-release of the first game under the name Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.
