Stick is a new sports comedy starring Owen Wilson as a washed-up golfer who, through mentoring a young phenom (Peter Dager), begins to get his life back on track. It’s by no means an original premise, and AppleTV+ is already trying to spin the series as the next Ted Lasso (a comparison which could do more harm than good). But that familiar tale proves to be a solid framework for a half-hour dramedy with a talented cast. Its 10-episode season is an enjoyable, almost effortless watch, and even when its story couldn’t always deliver, I appreciated what it was going for. 614e2i

Resident Alien season 4 is packed with the same great comedy and tense mystery from earlier seasons, with Harry (Alan Tudyk) experiencing big changes. Resident Alien season 3 had an explosive ending with several characters left in difficult circumstances, including Harry, who was trapped in a Gray alien prison. Meanwhile, on Earth, the residents of Patience all embark on various missions to uncover the truths that most concern them.

Though The X-Files is arguably the show to have jump-started the paranormal procedural craze, it's hard to deny that The CW's Supernatural rivals the alien-based series in ongoing popularity, having done well to follow in its footsteps with its engrossing monster-of-the-week storytelling and characters. While the years since have similarly seen other shows attempt to match Supernatural's success, the one that has stood the test of time to become the best successor is The Librarians.

This review contains SPOILERS for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, episode 5.The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2's latest episode is my favorite of the season so far, and it is certainly packed with action and major developments for the future of the show. After their reunion in last week's Dead City episode, I was expecting to get more of Maggie and Negan together in episode 5. However, that was not meant to be. The zombie show's new hour kept the characters in different places, with Negan making a major move and Maggie nearly dying in a horrific manner.

Pee-wee as Himself uncovers the truth about one of the most recognizable and mysterious men in show business with radical honesty and emotion. Most people will be familiar with Pee-wee Herman, whether through his films, the children's show, or the allegations tied to the man behind the bowtie, Paul Reubens. In the years immediately preceding his death, Reubens dropped the facade, at least in a small way, to try and get his side of the story out to the world in this incredible documentary directed by Matt Wolf.

The title is a reference to a Johnny Cash song which plays at the beginning and the end of the episode, and I suppose serves as a thematic wrap-up of Ronan Bennett's crime drama. Like a lot of Johnny Cash songs, the lyrics are straightforward and brief. There's a beast inside of him that is always threatening to escape. This song was released in 1994, at a time when Cash was reckoning with his lifetime of drug use.

Warning: This post contains spoilers for Leverage: Redemption Season 3, Episode 9Leverage: Redemption season 3 has been a big season for heavier character development for Parker (Beth Riesgraf), but “The Polygeist Job” provides a more balanced and humorous story, and is all the better for it. This is not the kind of Leverage: Redemption episode crafted to spotlight a character or two, but is instead the kind meant to showcase how madcap the adventures of the criminals at the center of the story can be. It’s a fun ride and feels very much like a classic con the characters might have pulled in the original Leverage series.
