Space-Time Distortions in Pokémon Legends: Arceus occur randomly in any of the game's main areas outside Jubilife Village. While they pose a number of dangers (Pokémon that spawn here are generally at a higher level and usually spawn in groups of three to fight at once), Space-Time Distortions are valuable for two major reasons. The first is that rare Pokémon spawn in Space-Time Distortions, and the second is that rare items like Evolution Stones and Star Pieces appear inside them as well.

When a Space-Time Distortion appears in Legends: Arceus, players will be notified if they're in the area. Additionally, a swirl icon will appear on the map to let them know where the Space-Time Distortion is located. Space-Time Distortions are only available for a short time, however, so players will need to hurry to them if they want to take advantage of catching rare Pokémon and gathering hard-to-find items.

Space-Time Distortions will only start appearing once players have advanced far enough in the story and defeated Kleavor in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. While there are no confirmed ways to make Space-Time Distortions spawn in Legends: Arceus, leaving an area and coming back into it can trigger them, since they appear to be completely random. Some players have noted Space-Time Distortions spawning after a certain number of Research Tasks are completed or after a lot of time has been spent inside a subregion of Hisui; however, these methods haven't been officially confirmed.

Every Rare Item That Spawns In Legends: Arceus' Space-Time Distortions

While the rare Pokémon that spawn inside of Space-Time Distortions can change depending on the subregion of Hisui that players are in, the rare times that appear here are generally the same. However, there's only a small chance of these items appearing - and it's completely random. So, players aren't guaranteed to get any of them inside of a Space-Time Distortion. Many of these items are used for Pokémon evolution in Legends: Arceus, so they're quite helpful. The rare items that can appear in Legends: Arceus' Space-Time Distortions are:

  • Stardust
  • Star Piece
  • Nugget
  • Comet Shard
  • Red Shard
  • Blue Shard
  • Green Shard
  • Water Stone
  • Thunder Stone
  • Fire Stone
  • Leaf Stone
  • Shiny Stone
  • Dusk Stone
  • Dawn Stone
  • Protector
  • Metal Coat
  • Upgrade
  • Dubious Disc
  • Reaper Cloth
  • Razor Claw
  • Razor Fang
  • Electirizer
  • Magmarizer
  • Linking Cord
  • Black Augurite

Finding Evolution Stones and other items used to evolve Pokémon are arguably the greatest treasures here. However, rare items like Nuggets, Stardust, and Star Pieces can be sold for Pokédollars. Black Augurite is a new item in Arceus, which is used to evolve Scyther into Kleavor.

Rare Pokémon In Space-Time Distortions - Obsidian Fieldlands

Akari roaming the Obsidian Fieldlands in Pokémon Legends Arceus

The Obsidian Fieldlands is the first area players will visit in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Once the Frenzied Noble Pokémon Kleavor is defeated, the first Space-Time Distortion should appear soon after. For those who want to acquire all the Eevee Evolutions in Legends: Arceus without finding Evolution Stones or leveling up friendship, this is a great place to start since two of the Eeveelutions spawn here. These are the rare Pokémon that can spawn within the Space-Time Distortion in the Obsidian Fieldlands:

  • Gengar
  • Sneasel
  • Weavile
  • Leafeon
  • Sylveon

In addition to the Eeveelutions here, Gengar can save players from having to acquire a Linking Cord to evolve. Sneasel only appears in the regular game as its Husuian form, so finding a regular Sneasel - and its evolution, Weavile - in Space-Time Distortions is the only way to find these two Pokémon in order to complete Legends: Arceus' Pokédex.

Rare Pokémon In Space-Time Distortions - Crimson Mirelands

Pokémon Legends: Arceus Crimson Mirelands Porygon Capture

The Crimson Mirelands is the second subregion of Hisui that players visit in Legends: Arceus. The Space-Time Distortions here can grant players additional Eeveelutions, Porygon and its evolutions, and starter Cyndaquil and its evolutionary line. The full list of rare Pokémon that spawn inside Space-Time Distortions in the Crimson Mirelands are:

  • Flareon
  • Umbreon
  • Cyndaquil
  • Quilava
  • Typhlosion
  • Porygon
  • Porygon2
  • Porygon-Z

For players that chose a different starter, this is a chance to acquire Cyndaquil without beating the game first. However, Laventon will give players the starter once they beat Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The Space-Time Distortion in the Crimson Mirelands is also the only way to catch Porygon and its evolutions.

The Cobalt Coastlands is home to many Water-type Pokémon. It's also the third subregion players will visit in Legends: Arceus. The rare Pokémon that spawn inside Space-Time Distortions in the Cobalt Coastlands are:

  • Magnemite
  • Magneton
  • Vaporeon
  • Flareon

Compared to other areas, the rare Pokémon available here are fairly small. However, it gives players a chance to get a couple more Eeveelutions. It also allows them to catch Electric-types like Magnetmite and Magneton.

Rare Pokémon In Space-Time Distortions - Coronet Highlands

The Coronet Highlands is the fourth area in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The Space-Time Distortions here will allow players to get Jolteon and Sylveon as well as Fossil Pokémon like Cranidos and Shieldon (and their evolutions). The rare Pokémon that spawn within Space-Time Distortions in the Coronet Highlands are:

  • Sylveon
  • Jolteon
  • Cranidos
  • Rampardos
  • Shieldon
  • Bastiodon
  • Magmortar
  • Rowlet
  • Dartrix
  • Decidueye

The Space-Time Distortion here also gives players a chance to obtain Rowlet if they didn't choose it as a starter in Legends: Arceus. While Professor Laventon will give players a Rowlet once they beat the game, the Space-Time Distortion in the Coronet Highlands allows them to get one (and its evolutions) earlier. Additionally, this is where players can catch a Magmortar without having to worry about evolving a Magmar using the Magmarizer.

Rare Pokémon In Space-Time Distortions - Alabaster Icelands

Pokémon Legends Arceus Spiritomb Wisp Locations Guide Alabaster Icelands

The Alabaster Icelands is the fifth and final Hisui subregion players will visit in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The Eeveelutions Glaceon and Espeon can be caught in the Space-Time Distoration here, as well as starter Oshawott and its evolutions. Additionally, players can catch a Scizor without having to evolve a Scyther with a Metal Coat. The rare Pokémon that spawn inside the Space-Time Distortions of the Alabaster Icelands are:

  • Espeon
  • Glaceon
  • Scizor
  • Oshawott
  • Dewott
  • Samurott

Although Space-Time Distortions are completely random, they each offer players a chance to get rare items and rare Pokémon. In fact, some of the Pokémon mentioned above can only be obtained through Space-Time Distortions, so they're definitely worth checking out. For now, Space-Time Distortions in Pokémon Legends: Arceus seem to spawn infrequently, but those rates may be boosted in a future update, similar to Cherrim's increased spawn rates.
