To progress the main story of stores and buildings in Toad Town, and freeing them can unlock these locations.
There are 12 Toads hidden in the Whispering Woods, with one only available once the player unlocks the submarine. Each Toad a player finds will result in a small reward and will be cataloged as a collectible in the Museum. This guide will reveal the location of every Toad in and around Whispering Woods.
All Toad Locations in the Whispering Woods in Paper Mario: The Origami King
Most of the Toads are concentrated to the same small picnic area in Whispering Woods, making them easy to find in one go. Mario will need to either pull them out from where they have been trapped or hit them with the hammer until they unfold. Here are all the Toad locations.
Toad 1: Players will find the first Toad almost immediately upon entering the Whispering Woods. He is stuck in a bush on the side of the trail.
Toad 2: This Toad is located in the largest tree stump near the picnic area, between the chopped logs and the gazebo with picnic tables.
Toad 3: This Toad is stuck on the bark of the big evergreen tree to the left of the giant pile of chopped logs in the picnic area.
Toad 4: Players will find this Toad stuck upside-down in a bush on the side of the trail, in the same picnic area between the gazebo with the tables and the log cabin.
Toad 5: Under the gazebo in the same picnic area, players will see a goomba sitting at a table. They will need to fight the goomba, then rescue the hidden Toad underneath the goomba's tree stump seat.
Toad 6: At the next table under the gazebo, players will find the Toad on the plate.
Toad 7: In the same area, behind the wall at the back of the gazebo, players will find the Toad on the cliff near some flowers.
Toad 8: This Toad is found at the log cabin, in the empty flower planter. Players will need to jump and have Mario hit the empty planter. They will then need to go around to the cabin's front porch and use the hammer to hit the flower that appears.
Toad 9: This Toad is located inside the small woodshed on the right side of the log cabin.
Toad 10: Players will find this Toad flattened inside the leftmost white tent.
Toad 11: This Toad is stuck to the frame of the wooden swing.
Toad 12: Players need to first unlock the submarine. They need to then travel to the island with the Shy Guy. The Toad is inside a clam shell underwater. Mario will need to take the big shell and bring it to the picnic area to cook over the campfire in order to free the Toad.
