Amy Slaton's journey to welcoming her son amazed why 1000-lb Sisters viewers were perplexed by Amy's baby registry.
In 1000-lb Sisters season 1, viewers watched firsthand as Amy and her sister Tammy struggled to meet their ambitious weight loss goals. Although they were dedicated to changing their lives, it wasn't easy for the Slaton sisters to keep up with their strict diets. One driving force that kept Amy motivated, however, was having a son with her husband Michael. It wouldn't be safe for Amy to have a child before undergoing bariatric surgery, so the reality star's yearning to start a family helped Amy stay on track. Because fans witnessed the highs and lows of Amy's weight loss venture in season 1, the Slaton sister's followers were deeply invested in Amy's family plans following her weight-loss operation. One way fans learned more about Amy's pregnancy was through her baby registry.
Although Amy might not be the most traditional mother, she followed the custom of creating her own baby registry. Unlike most moms, Amy's a reality TV star, which means that her registry could be viewed and ed by thousands of followers. Amy put her registry on Amazon so her fans could contribute to the reality star's first months as a mother. Some of the items on the Slaton sister's registry further demonstrated Amy's peculiarity, however. Typically, baby registries consist of necessary products such as car seats, cribs, diapers, and bottles. Amy's fans might have been surprised to find that the reality star didn't adhere to the standard list of requests. In fact, many of the items on Amy's registry earned mixed responses from the fans Amy already has a contentious relationship with. Some of the most eccentric products on Amy's Amazon registry include a $200 electric chair.
As Amy's Amazon registry holds a variety of quirky products she hoped her fans would purchase for her. Gage is known for his memorable onesies and Amy had some eyebrow-raising outfits picked out for the baby boy on her registry. From onesies sporting the phrase, "Breaking hearts & blasting farts," to a gloomy getup that reads, "Stephen King Rules," Amy's ers were thrown off by the reality star's choice of onesies. Another strange gift Amy added to her Amazon registry included a doll of the horror film character, Chuckie. Not only are these atypical requests, but some fans were skeptical of Amy's registry because she's historically been accused of asking too much of her fans online. Amy was criticized for prematurely asking fans to a GoFundMe for Tammy's funeral. Amy also started a GoFundMe for a MacBook, which some critics argued was unnecessary.
Amy's not the average mother, so 1000-lb Sisters fans shouldn't be surprised to find the reality star's baby registry is off-center. From expensive chairs to crude onesies to devious dolls, Amy's baby registry requests were one of a kind. Hopefully, fans can catch a glimpse of Gage in one of his outlandish onesies in 1000-lb Sisters season 3.
