Tammy’s significant weight loss left her with excess skin that couldn't be removed through means other than surgery.
After losing more than 500 pounds, the only thing on Tammy’s mind was skin removal surgery. Amid waiting for her approval, she revealed what she feared about the procedure.
A preview clip (courtesy of E! News) from the next episode of 1000-Lb Sisters shows Tammy enjoying dinner with her family when Amanda Halterman asks her to share the one thing on her mind about the surgery. “Just really the pain and then the fear of how I’m gonna look, looking at myself afterwards,” Tammy replies. She adds that she is accustomed to seeing herself with the extra skin, and when she wakes up after surgery, she will look “halfway normal from face down.”
“It’s scary but worrying at the same time.”
Tammy tells the cameras that she is worried about how she will feel after the surgery when she looks down at her body. Even showering is going to be different for Tammy as she won't have to deal with the extra skin while cleaning herself, especially with her belly rolls gone. It'd been hard for Tammy to do even the most mundane things, but in less than a week, she is going to be able to see herself in a different light.
