As per Collider, A Quiet Place: Day One has now made it past a major box office milestone. The movie has ed the $100 million mark at the domestic box office. How A Quiet Place: Day One Compares To The Franchise's Other Movies

A Quiet Place: Day One Has A Long Way To Go To Beat Its Predecessors

A Quiet Place: Day One has managed to get to this total despite significant box office competition during its run. Its opening weekend saw the movie lose out in the rankings to the well-reviewed Inside Out 2, which managed to top the charts for a second consecutive weekend. Inside Out 2 is somewhat of an unstoppable phenomenon, as it has grossed over $1 billion and become one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time after less than one month in theaters. To make matters more difficult, A Quiet Place: Day One now has to compete with Despicable Me 4.

Thus, even if it might be disheartening to lose to a returning hit, A Quiet Place: Day One's success is still quite impressive. It is also worth noting that the Quiet Place prequel had the largest opening weekend of any film in the franchise, even with this competition. This, of course, was coupled with the movie also having the highest budget, but nonetheless, its $2 million win over 2018's A Quiet Place is worth noting.

A Quiet Place: Day One still has a long way to go if it wants to match the success of either of its predecessors. A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place: Part II brought in $188 million and $160 million domestic totals, respectively, making it such that Day One would have to maintain huge momentum in order to sur either. It is also worth pointing out that Day One is the lowest-rated movie in the franchise in of Rotten Tomatoes scores, a fact that potentially lowers audience interest. Still, the recent milestone for A Quiet Place: Day One is notable as it continues its box office run.
