The series finale of things we want to see before Adventure Time ends, but there's only four episodes left for the show to wrap everything up.

Over the past few years, Cartoon Network has made the release of Adventure Time quite confusing. Seasons have come out of nowhere and chunks of episodes have dropped with little warning. This past weekend, the penultimate four episodes of the show aired setting up the big finale to come. Now, we have our first look at the four-part epic series finale of the show.

Cartoon Network has released a teaser trailer for 'Come Along With Me', which comprises the final four episodes of Adventure Time. The teaser doesn't include a premiere date for the finale, indicating that the full-length trailer will reveal that information instead. In the meantime, we know that the many heroes of the TV series will come together to fight in one final battle.

Though it appears on the surface to be a lighthearted kids show, Adventure Time is defined by war and loss. The Great Mushroom War hangs over the entirety of the series as the event that changed many lives and altered the Earth to the fantastical world it is in the series. Meanwhile, most every character has had death and abandonment in their life. It's those emotional stakes that have helped make the show so engaging.

In the short tease, we see Jake, Marcy, Finn, Lady Rainicorn, Flame Princess, Lemongrab, and Huntress Wizard all ing with Princess Bubblegum as the enemy onslaught approaches. With the show coming to a close, we can expect more of Adventure Times' all-star guest actors and plenty of nods to previous episodes. We may even get a hint of a possible future for the characters and the world.

Outside of some miniseries that effectively acted as episodes of the show, the vast world of Adventure Time hasn't spun out into any other series. But given how popular it is and how much groundwork has been laid, it wouldn't be a surprise to see it continue in some way. If it does, we certainly know the Adventure Time characters who should get a spinoff. Until then, however, stay tuned for more details on the Adventure Time series finale.
