It's easy to check the remaining battery percentage on most recent AirPods version being launched in 2021. Apple also sells the more expensive AirPods Pro, which offer in-ear tips, noise cancellation, water-resistance, and more features to differentiate them from the standard AirPods.
In of the battery life, the second-generation AirPods can deliver up to 24 hours of listening time or 18 hours of talk time with a fully charged case. The AirPods 3rd-gen takes that number up to 30 hours of listening time and 20 hours of talk time with multiple charges available in the case. As for the AirPods Pro, a fully charged case gives s over 24 hours of listening time and over 18 hours of talk time. While this number might seem lower than the cheaper AirPods 3rd-gen, the AirPods Pro offer these numbers with the noise-cancellation feature enabled.
The process to check the battery life on AirPods or AirPods Pro is the same if they are paired with an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. There are two ways to check the AirPods battery status on these devices. The first is the easier method, where s just need to open their AirPods case with the earbuds inside, and hold it close to their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. A pop-up will appear after a few seconds displaying the charge status of both the AirPods and the charging case.
Alternate Way To Check AirPods Battery Life
The second method to check the AirPods battery status on an iPhone or iPad is by using the Batteries widget. To begin with, s will need to add the widget to their devices. First swipe right on the home screen, and on the widgets page scroll down to the 'Edit' option. Tap on '+' and then select the Batteries option either by scrolling down or typing it in the search box. Reposition the widget and then click on 'Done'. Alternatively, add the widget to the home screen by long-pressing an empty part of the screen until the app icons start shaking. Tap on the '+' icon and select Batteries from the available widgets. Once the widget has been added to the iPhone or iPad, it will display remaining battery for each AirPod and the case. Apple notes that at least one AirPod needs to be inside the case for the the case battery percentage to appear.
On a Mac computer, AirPods s will need to open the case lid or remove their AirPods from the case before checking the battery status. After this, click on the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar. From the list of paired devices that appears, hover the pointer over the AirPods and the battery percentage for each AirPod and the case will be displayed in the menu.
