SpectreVision is a pretty big up-and-coming production company, which mostly leans towards genres of speculative fiction, which is an umbrella term encoming horror, fantasy, and sci-fi, with a specialization in horror and thrillers.

It was founded in 2010 by Elijah Wood (yes, that Elijah Wood, the actor who most people know as Frodo from The Lord Of The Rings franchise), Daniel Noah, and Josh C.Waller. The film company has had tons of notable releases since its founding, the most well-known of which might be Mandy. Looking at their IMDb ratings, these are the best, although most of them are worth checking out.

Toad Road (5.1)

toad road forest

The issue with Toad Road is that it's a movie about drug addiction, and frequently in the memoirs of people who have been addicted to drugs, it's mentioned that it is indeed a rather slow lifestyle.

The protagonist frequently loses touch with reality, slowly drifting into a nightmare world. Unfortunately, the lead actress in the film, Sarah Anne Jones, ed away from a drug overdose shortly after the film began screening.

Bitch - (5.1)

bitch family

Bitch unfortunately seems like the premise was built on a pun more so than any sort of solid ground for a movie. It's pretty inconsistent thanks to the fact that it's a comedy, drama, and a thriller all rolled into one, but the premise is so insane that it's difficult to ever take seriously.

A woman has a nervous breakdown and starts acting like a dog who has been mistreated, leaving her husband to deal with the consequences.

Open Windows (5.2)

However, he ends up being manipulated by someone who pretends to be her manager, secretly becoming the architect of a plan to get to the actress in person. Watching the nefarious plot unfold is definitely worth doing.

Seven Stages To Achieve Eternal Bliss (5.3)

Seven stages taika waititi

Originally having the much longer title of Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss by ing Through the Gateway Chosen by the Holy Storsh, this film feels like some sort of witch's brew of two of Roman Polanski's famous horror movies, The Tenant and Rosemary's Baby.

In this release, a couple finds a beautiful apartment that fits all their needs until they realize that perhaps a cult is involved.

The Boy (5.5)

The boy spectrevision

The Boy is based on a novel by Clay McLeod Chapman, and it's honestly a pretty difficult watch. For anyone who has a fear of raising children, this film is probably better to avoid since it tells the story of a 9-year old child who shows sociopathic tendencies.

The film gets to be a little slow, but that's part of the fun since most of the run-time of over two hours consists of a character study about the child.

The Greasy Strangler (5.7)

The greasy strangler closeup

The Greasy Strangler really can't be summed up in any other word than well, greasy. The film follows a man and his son as they vie for the attention of a woman they meet while given the Disco Walking tours that they're the proprietors of.

To add to it, a slasher shows up who starts strangling tons of people in the surrounding area during the evenings. The film is a fun and heavily stylized horror movie.

Cooties (5.7)

cooties classroom

Part action film, part horror, part thriller, part workplace drama, Cooties is an incredibly strange film, and the plot of the movie has probably occurred to anyone who works closely with young kids.

The students at an elementary school are all struck with a mysterious affliction that causes them to become bloodthirsty monsters, after which Elijah Wood and Rainn Wilson do their best to survive.

Daniel Isn't Real (6.0)

Daniel Isn't Real is a legitimately compelling psychological horror, with a decent amount of thriller elements mixed in. The movie follows a man with a schizophrenic mother, who gets reacquainted with his childhood imaginary friend.

At first, Daniel seems to be a friendly presence who helps Luke, the protagonist, break out of his shell. Eventually, reality and fiction appear severed and Luke struggles to keep his imaginary friend contained.

The Color Out Of Space (6.2)

The film features most of the fare that fans of the cosmic horror writer would expect, from people being driven insane to a completely inscrutable phenomenon that arises seemingly out of nowhere. of the family who are affected by the problem seem to show it in different ways, but all in the same proportion, as a meteor takes over their lives.

Archenemy (6.3)

Max points his gun in the film Archenemy.

Archenemy is an action film that contains an inordinate amount of comedians to be such. The film is about a man who claims that he's from a parallel world, and since he was transported here, he's lost all of his superpowers.

One child decides to believe him while pretty much everyone else actively laughs in his face. He then decides to take on a local organized crime ring in charge of trafficking drugs without them.
