Andor season 2 was expected to follow a similar pattern.
Disney has now confirmed that the 12 episodes in Andor season 2 will be released in four chapters of three episodes each. The first three episodes will debut on April 22, and each three-episode chapter will be released in the subsequent weeks. This is the same number of total episodes as in Andor season 1, but all the three-episode arcs will be released over the course of four weeks, whereas season 1 only did this with the first arc.
We're Getting Three Episodes Of Andor Every Week
A Complete Star Wars Event Will Be Released For Four Consecutive Weeks
Every three-episode arc in Andor season 2 takes place in one of the four remaining years leading up to the events of A New Hope in the Star Wars timeline. Instead of seeing a story arc play out over the course of three weeks, Star Wars will be presenting a complete story every week during Andor season 2's run. Each week will explore a year in the life of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and the growing resistance against the Empire as the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and A New Hope draw closer.

Every Star Wars Live-Action TV Show Season, Ranked
Star Wars has dove into live-action TV in the last 5 years with much success, but some seasons have been better than others. Here's how they rank.
Andor was originally going to be five seasons, with each season taking place over the course of a year. The last four years have now been condensed into four three-episode arcs. With this updated release schedule, a year's worth of events in a galaxy far, far away will now be shown weekly. The new release model further condenses a story that would have taken at least several more years to be made and shown to audiences.
Our Take On Andor's Epic New Schedule
It Can Fix A Season 1 Issue
Due to the structure of Andor's three-episode arcs, releasing each arc at once should work well. In season 1, the first and second episodes in some of the arcs felt as though they ended abruptly and with an incomplete story for Andor's characters, at least until the arc's third and final episode came out. This issue can be avoided in season 2 through the three-episode debuts. It will allow each episode to flow more seamlessly into the next one and will help create more separation between each of Andor season 2's arcs.
