During today's ACHN's long-awaited Brewster update.
Fortunately, players don't have to wait too much longer for the content rollout. Brewster and The Roost will finally New Horizons in just a few short weeks on November 5, the livestream revealed. Thus, villagers can start visiting Brewster's coffee shop in no time. And players who wish to meet up with friends via multiplayer for a good Cup o' Joe will soon be satiated, too. But while today's Direct placed Brewster and the café at the center of attention, details of the pigeon's imminent arrival weren't all that Animal Crossing faithful walked away with in of exciting news.
Near the end of the New Horizons-focused ACHN amiibo cards, which launches on November 5 - the same day as the Brewster update. This marks the fifth series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards, a rollout set to introduce 48 different cards. Fans can expect the latest series to feature new Animal Crossing characters, as well as classic island residents who've never been immortalized in card form before. Better still, s who visit Brewster's café will have the option to invite other characters along for the trip using compatible amiibo cards. Each pack will boast six cards in total and go on sale in select stores.
This news will no doubt please fans looking to expand upon their Animal Crossing amiibo card collection. But here's to hoping the reseller market doesn't gain a foothold as it has in the past. Early in 2020, amiibo card scalpers caused a shortage that forced Nintendo to quickly rollout a restock, for example.
Today's Direct in general was just what the doctor ordered for New Horizons, particularly after a lengthy period of time wherein major updates were no where to be found. The game even skipped E3 2021, to the chagrin of many. But it appears things on the island are starting to look up.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available digitally and at retail for Nintendo Switch; the game's new amiibo cards arrive next month on November 5.
