The game update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Direct, a 20 minute-long livestream event that unveiled new characters such as Brewster and Kapp’n, as well as expanded home storage from 2,400 to 5,000. The update will also allow players to store items outside with an outdoor storage shed, which can be linked to their homes.
While this is said to be the last big update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and many players are worried it won’t be enough to fully address the game’s lack of gameplay options, the Nintendo Direct has seen a lot of praise. For instance, Nintendo is adding cooking to ACNH and players will finally be able to make delicious treats using growable fruits and vegetables. Planting tomatoes, wheat, sugarcane, potatoes, carrots, and other neat flora will yield plenty of ingredients to complete DIY recipes when the Animal Crossing: New Horizons update drops. Other flora is arriving as well and one observant fan has listed the plants Animal Cross: New Horizons fans can expect.

While most of the plants have not been confirmed by Nintendo, binvle’s Easter egg hunt did provide a growing list of new items being added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. What each plant will be used for is anyone’s guess, however many will likely tie into the cooking mechanic, with DIY recipes asking for exotic ingredients.
To discover and collect much of the new flora, players will have to explore far-away lands with Kapp’n. While this means listening to Kapp’n’s sea shanties, new shores lead to unique islands filled with that mysterious flora. Those islands can also have different seasons from that of the main island. The new adventures that await on these islands, as well as the new plants to discover in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will arrive within the big update on November 5.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons' 2.0 update will be released on November 5, 2021.
