A new and shocking interview has gone viral for all the wrong reasons, and it has fans of the legendary and godfather of manga, Osamu Tezuka, furious. With the anniversary of his death being only a few weeks ago, many fans believe that the incredible legacy of the genius is being destroyed, and by the man's closest family of all people.

In a new interview by Pia during an event called "The Future of AI-driven Animation Expression", Makoto Tezuka, the son of Osamu Tezuka, revealed that he had been working on anime in his father's style using AI for the past 5 years, but was unsuccessful in doing so due to the machine being unable to add any sort of art direction to it. While many fans are relieved that this endeavor did not pan out, many more are enraged by Makoto using AI to produce an anime of his father's work, and felt that it was extremely disrespectful to his life as an artist and mangaka.
