The comparisons largely stem from the coloring of the shots, as well as the superhero suits that the heroes are wearing. Check out what fans have been saying below.

The MCU Phase 4 VFX Debate Shows No Sign Of Stopping

She-Hulk CGI

The comparisons between Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Spy Kids 3-D come after the MCU's phase 4 has been plagued by audience criticism surrounding the quality of the special effects used within their recent theatrical and streaming releases. Back in May, Marvel was met with intense pushback online following the release of the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law trailer, as viewers commented on the CGI that was used to bring the show's titular character to life, with many feeling it was no longer up to the usual Marvel standard. The final episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law confirmed that Marvel is at least aware of these criticisms, as during a fourth-wall-breaking scene a joke was made about She-Hulk's visual effects being "very expensive."

This somewhat niche comparison between the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over highlights the increasing skepticism towards Marvel's VFX. Despite these minor visual similarities, the overall response to the trailer has been largely positive, with many excited to see Rudd's hero finally return to screens, especially given these now considerably higher stakes when compared to his previous two standalone appearances. For now, it remains to be seen whether audiences will still draw these same similarities when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is released in theaters.
