Various leaks and official teasers have revealed several details about ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro that were launched earlier this year. The new devices are expected to ship with many of the same features as the existing models, but with a few changed components, including a new processor and a revamped cooling system.

Originally known for its PC components like motherboards and graphics cards, Asus has since expended its business to include many consumer electronics devices, including gaming monitors and smartphones. Until a few years ago, the company had a slew of smartphones in its portfolio spanning the entry-level, mid-range and segments, but has since withdrawn from the lower-end of the market to concentrate on the segment. Asus now offers its flagship Zenfone lineup for mainstream consumers, and a ROG Phone lineup for mobile gamers.

Asus recently powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9000+ chipset. According to rumors, the new chip will come with increased clock speeds for the Cortex-X2 U cores, making it even more performance-oriented than the standard Dimensity 9000. The device will also reportedly ship with a new thermal management system that Asus is calling its best yet. Official renders of the devices were also leaked recently, revealing that they'll have almost identical designs to that of the regular ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro.

Earlier this month, prolific tipster Digital Chat Station a 50MP primary camera, but details about the rest of the imaging sensors are unclear at the moment. Other rumored hardware specs for the ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate include a dual-cell 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging .

The ROG Phone 6D series was also recently listed on the Bluetooth SIG website after it was certified with Bluetooth 5.2 . The rest of the tech specs of the devices remain unknown, but some of them might be revealed in the lead-up to the launch. Overall, the ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate promise to offer mobile gamers everything they can possibly ask for, so it will be interesting to see how they fare in an increasingly competitive gaming smartphone market.
