it's a blast. Regardless, finding some key locations may prove a challenge, which is a big problem when you've got places to go, people to see, and outlaws to kill.
Casterfall Woods is one of the early game locations you'll absolutely need to make it to in order to progress the main story (and eventually complete the game). Despite the last-gen visuals, it's a gorgeous area. Getting there isn't hard if you know where to look, but therein lies the rub. What you're looking for are the sewers, which are in a pretty random spot out in the wild.
Casterfall Woods Location & How To Get There
It's Just A Matter Of Knowing Where To Look
To start on your journey to Casterfall Woods, first you'll need to find the Sewer Tunnels entrance. This is found in Slatten Dale at the coordinates 28E 79.4N. Open the gate and head inside, following the signs northwest to Main Facility. Once inside the brightly lit open area, go west down the tunnel until you see the Casterfell Woods signs.
There are enemies on the upper and lower levels of the Main Facility, so come prepared. If you're still struggling with combat, just explore Slatten Dale and bash some outlaws with melee weapons and steal their weapons and ammo. You can also explore ruins and houses and do favors for people in exchange for loot.
Head east, then go north down the ladder, following the Casterfell Woods sign on your left. Unlock the gate into the unknown area ahead, to then find yourself in Casterfell Woods. If you're confused like I was at first, this marks the broader area you're in as opposed to a specific location on your map.
Which Leads Should You Follow First In Atomfall?
Atomfall doesn’t give you the luxury of objective markers, but there are a couple good places you should look if the game is feeling aimless.
Once in Casterfall Woods, you'll have a whole slew of new leads to work your way through, as well as loot to find and secrets to uncover. Early exploration hints at some kind of pagan cult, but whether these are the free-loving hippie types or the sacrifice a goat for the glory of some god whose name you can't pronounce types, you don't yet know.
