As Hale looked back on the legacy of Avatar: The Last Airbender with Comicbook.com, the voice actor revealed that she remained eager to reprise her role as the series enjoys a renaissance. Stating that she had enjoyed seeing a new generation become enamored with the franchise and find inspiration in Kyoshi, Hale stated she would be happy to reprise her role and further expand the character's tale as expanded media has further fleshed out her journey. I love seeing the resurgence, and it’s so cool that a new generation gets to dive into this and experience it. I love this character, Kyoshi, because she will do what it takes regardless. I think we have that in common for better or for worse. I love her strength because it was recorded during a time where this wasn’t as common and women weren’t as much in these roles, doing these kinds of things. Now, thankfully, this seems much more of the norm. At that point, it was just beginning to take part of that.

I would love to jump back into the role. I would be there with bells on, let me at it. Any participation in that would be a joy! I’ve actually seen the Kyoshi novels and I’ve signed several of them that fans have brought to me. Love the role.”

Kyoshi has been a popular character among the key players of Avatar: The Last Airbender ever since her debut, even though she had long been deceased. A far cry from fellow Avatars who tried to achieve balance through peace, Kyoshi is loved for her pragmatism and determination to do what's right, no matter the cost, as seen with her handling of Chin the Conqueror. Alongside this, her romances with Rangi and Yun helped her become one of the franchise's most explored LGBTQ+ characters.
