Chris Evans confirms that he's wrapped his reshoots for Anthony and Joe Russo's Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011 that he really hit his stride in the comic book movie world.
Ever since then, Captain America has been a defining force in the MCU, having led the Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Joss Whedon's The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, not to mention helping head up the battle strategies in the Russos' Captain America: Civil War in 2016. But now, he's slated to make one last appearance in the MCU in Avengers 4 in 2019 before hanging up his shield... forever, it seems.

Evans has been busy filming the Avengers 4 reshoots, but he's now announced on Twitter that he's done with his scenes, which means, according to his current Marvel contract, that he's officially done with the MCU as a whole. That much is apparently evident in his quotation (below) - but is he, really? Is he actually done with the MCU or is he just indicating that he might be? Take a look:
This year's Avengers: Infinity War was originally supposed to be Chris Evans' final turn as Captain America, but Marvel Studios requested that he extend his stay until Avengers 4, because they simply couldn't fit everything they needed to in one movie. Evans, obviously, agreed. However, there has been talk over the years that he would be interested in potentially appearing in the MCU in Phase 4 and beyond, but those comments came long before Civil War and Infinity War released, so his mindset may have changed.
At one point, he indicated that he would rather somewhat open to the idea, as he stated earlier this year.
