The Multiverse Saga gets a definitive update about its ending in the remainder of The Multiverse Saga.

Screen Rant recently interviewed Marvel Studios' Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, who is also one of the executive producers on Agatha All Along. While promoting the Phase 5 TV show, Winderbaum was asked if there are more projects left to be announced for The Multiverse Saga, given that the MCU is now only three years away from Avengers: Secret Wars, which is likely to be the end of the saga. He said:

I think that's [what] Secret Wars is going to be an amazing culmination to the saga. I think it's going to make the journey feel like it was a worthwhile.

Marvel's Next Saga Could Be The Mutant Saga

While The Multiverse Saga is almost over, many have been wondering what will be the next natural direction for the MCU as Marvel Studios head into Phase 7 and beyond. Even though they have begun to introduce mutants into the MCU throughout Phases 4 and 5, it's heavily believed that the next saga will be The Mutant Saga, which is where those characters will take a bigger spotlight compared to right now. That is where Marvel Studios is most likely planning to finally execute their X-Men plans.

Earlier in 2024, it was revealed that Michael Lesslie is writing the X-Men reboot movie, and while there haven't been any updates since the initial report in May, it would make sense for the team-up film to be saved for the start of Phase 7. Two of the release dates that Marvel Studios has for 2027, which are after Avengers: Secret Wars, are July 23 and November 5 of that year. It wouldn't come as a shock if the new X-Men film is what kicks off Phase 7 by grabbing the July 23, 2027, slot.

The Mutant Saga could also indicate a new direction for the MCU by shifting the spotlight away from the Avengers and making the X-Men bigger players within the franchise. The Avengers: Secret Wars story is rumored to be leading into a soft reboot of the MCU timeline, which would perfectly set up The Mutant Saga with those characters kicking off a new era for Marvel Studios. Hopefully, there will be more MCU updates on what is coming up for The Multiverse Saga sooner rather than later.
