Star of Bachelor in Paradise Blake Horstmann was attacked by a stranger, taking a punch in the eye, and he may need tohave surgery. Horstmann didn't look great during his run on the latest season of Bachelor in Paradise. Now, he looks even worse.
Dating nearly everyone in Mexico this past summer, Blake made the rounds as a guy looking for love in all the wrong ways. He Horstmann has done his best to stay out of the spotlight.
Horstmann revealed recently that he was attacked in New York City. He told People, “I have a fracture in my orbital floor and so I am waiting to hear if I will need surgery. Have to let the swelling and bruising go down first.” He was in the city to ring in 2020, and he said he found himself in a bad position at an unfortunate time. He said, "Some crazy person decided to punch a bunch of us standing there, and I was on the wrong end of one of the punches, unfortunately, me and like four other people. Yeah, good start to the new year, happy new year!”
Horstmann had planned to recap new episodes of The Bachelor on social media, but he said he may not be able to now. He told People, “I don’t know how much of the Bachelor breakdown I’ll be doing, ’cause I don’t think you guys are gonna want to look at my broken face all day." After celebrating New Year's Eve in Times Square, Horstmann posted on Instagram about his tumultuous year, writing, “2019 was a bumpy road. Mistakes were made and lessons learned. Never been more excited to ring in a new year… 2020 is gonna be a good one."
Horstmann isn't the only former contestant of The Bachelorette to injure his face recently. While filming his season of The Bachelor, Peter Weber also had an unfortunate accident involving his head. Hopefully, for either of these guys, it doesn't impede them for too long on their journeys to find true love.
