- Jenn's comments on the cast's lack of Asian men have garnered from Bachelor Nation.
The Bachelor season 28, Jenn was one of the favorites among Bachelor Nation, who enjoyed her bubbly, effervescent personality. Jenn’s time on Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor may not have cemented her relationship with the Pennsylvania native, but she did manage to find herself the center of attention for viewers. When it came time to choose the next Bachelorette, Jenn was at the top of some viewers’ lists.
Though it seemed possible that Daisy Kent or Maria Georgas would become the next Bachelorette, Jenn was shockingly named The Bachelorette season 21’s lead during the Bachelor finale. Making history as the first Asian American Bachelorette in franchise history, Jenn was excited to represent herself on one of the world’s biggest stages while also looking for love. Jenn’s time as The Bachelorette doesn’t appear to have gone as smoothly as she’d hoped, though, after some spoilers about her season have come out and her cast has been revealed. With a lack of Asian representation in the cast, many are perplexed.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now
Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.
Jenn Tran Is The Bachelorette’s First Asian American Lead
While Jenn is one of many Asian women to appear on The Bachelor, she has the privilege of becoming the first-ever Asian American lead in the franchise’s history on The Bachelorette. Over the years, The Bachelor franchise has been harshly criticized for its lack of diversity. The series has been predominantly white for the majority of its run, with its first Black leads only on The Bachelor season 25 with Matt James, and The Bachelorette season 13 with Rachel Lindsay. The lack of diversity in the series is a long-standing issue and has often pushed viewers away from the show.
Jenn’s Cast Doesn’t Include Many Asian Men, Lacking Diversity
While Jenn is a woman of Vietnamese descent who was hopeful she’d get to share her experience as The Bachelorette with men of similar cultural backgrounds, her cast doesn’t deliver. The men on The Bachelorette season 21 is majority white, which many have taken issue with. While Jenn is interested in people for their personality rather than their race or ethnicity, the fact that The Bachelorette casting didn’t choose to bring in Asian men for her journey is a questionable decision. With just one man of Asian heritage in the cast, the men of The Bachelorette season 21 lack diversity.
Jenn Commented On The Cast Negatively & Bachelor Nation Agrees With Her
Although Jenn has been doing press to promote her season of The Bachelorette, she’s been candid about how disappointing it was not to see many Asian men come out of the limos on opening night. While Jenn has been respectful of The Bachelorette and her season, she has made it clear that she wishes there were more men of similar heritage on her season. With Bachelor Nation coming into some hot water due to their lack of diversity, The Bachelorette should’ve taken more precautions to bring a diverse cast into their historic season.
