After a long wait, Patch 7 for Baldur's Gate 3 is out today on PC. The long-awaited update has been expected since April, and was revealed to be scheduled for the first full week of September during Pax West. This is expected to be one of the biggest and most game-changing updates yet, with a spate of new features and content for players to delve into.

In a post on the official Baldur's Gate 3 website, Larian revealed that Patch 7 is officially live for PC as of September 5, and will be available for sometime today. However, it's currently exclusive to PC, so Mac and console players still have a little while to wait.

How BG3 Patch 7 Is Changing The Game

Mod , New Durge Scenes, Evil Endings, & More

Patch 7 is one of the biggest updates released for Baldur's Gate 3 yet, including a number of new features. Perhaps most prominent is the introduction of official modding , which will be available on all platforms (i.e., on consoles and Mac as well as PC) once the patch comes to them.

Baldur's Gate 3 may already be known as a gigantic RPG, but one especially talented fan managed to make it even larger with more immersive encounters.

BG3's approach to official modding consists of two tools: a toolkit for creators, and an in-game mod manager for players. The Baldur's Gate 3 Toolkit can be ed for free later today via the Steam store. It's designed specifically for creating and publishing mods for Baldur's Gate 3, and will some scripted mods using Larian's own scripting language, Osiris. As for players, they'll find a new interface for ing and managing toolkit-ed mods directly into the game. They can browse a list of available mods, install them, and enable or disable them at will without ever closing the Baldur's Gate 3 window.

BG3 will still third-party mods and mod managers like Nexus and Vortex.

As the community post implies, Patch 7 is all about evil, so players looking for new ways to do bad will find plenty in the Baldur's Gate 3 update. First and foremost, there's a new set of "Evil Endings," new cinematics for players who make consistently, irredeemably evil decisions throughout their runs. Exactly what these consist of isn't yet clear, but with players' penchant for experimentation, they'll likely be discovered before long.

Players can also expect to see widespread updates to the Dark Urge storyline in Patch 7, including several new lines of dialogue. The Dark Urge will also have increased reactivity with other characters and events. Alfira will briefly, temporarily the party during Dark Urge playthroughs, while the Dark Urge themselves will also have new interactions with Gortash and Orin, and a smattering of other dialogue options throughout the game.

Patch 7 also brings the long-awaited dynamic split-screen update to Baldur's Gate 3. Players engaging in couch co-op will find that their screens dynamically merge when their characters are in the same area, then split apart again when they stray from one another. This makes for a much more immersive effect than the traditional split-screen mode, which has also received a new coat of paint.

Honour Mode players will also see some major changes in Patch 7: namely, new Legendary Actions for bosses throughout the game. Malus Thorm has a new move called Grasping Appendage, the Bulette one called Shredding Scales, Ptaris one called Ptarian Dogma. It's not just Legendary actions, though; Dror Ragzlin may attempt to get the spiders on his side during the battle for the Goblin Camp, and Spectators have a whole new combat arsenal.

Besides all that, Patch 7 also includes a host of bug fixes and balance tweaks too numerous to list here in full. Consult the patch notes on the official website for a full of all that's new.

Patch 7 is an enormous file, and players will need 160 GB of free space to install it. However, with all the new features it offers, that's understandable - it'll forever change the face of Baldur's Gate 3.
