Baldur's Gate 3 has shared some interesting data about the game to celebrate the first anniversary of its launch. This includes stats on which players were turned into cheese wheels, which players actually completed Honour Mode, and staggering numbers for companion romance. With a lot of popular characters to choose from, the data shows that companions were kissed over 75 million times in-game. However, one companion took the top spot with 27 million of those kisses.
In a post shared on X, formerly Twitter, the official Baldur's Gate 3 shared that Shadowheart has been kissed "over 27 million times." This makes her the most-kissed companion in the game.
However, the stats also show who gets the #2 and last spots. Astarion comes in at second place with 15 million kisses, while Minthara came in last with just 169,937 smooches.
Shadowheart Continues To Be A Popular Baldur's Gate 3 Companion
Surprisingly, She's Not The Most Popular Character Though
It's probably no surprise that Shadowheart takes the stop spot, considering how many people have tried to Origin Character to play in the game, according to the data shared by the official Baldur's Gate 3 .
Instead, the top spot for most popular Origin Character as avatars goes to Astarion, with 1.21 million players. Gale comes in at a close second with 1.20 million. Shadowheart manages to get the third spot, though, with 0.86 million. This may be because people prefer to romance her, rather than to play as her. However, there's no disputing Astarion's popularity - or Gale's, for that matter.
In the year since Baldur's Gate 3 launched, the Game of the Year Award winner has become a part of the zeitgeist. The characters have been a huge part of the game's success, and that popularity perhaps explains why there's so much demand for BG3 characters to be brought into other mediums. Still, even considering the game's popularity, 27 million kisses for Shadowheart in Baldur's Gate 3 is a staggeringly large number.
