Captain Glenn Shephard isn't cutting it on Below Deck Down Under season 3 unfolds, there may be some casting changes in the works for Below Deck Sailing Yacht in seasons.

In the season finale, Captain Glenn suggested Gary was on the track to become a Captain, but he certainly didn't mean as his replacement. Captain Glenn is a skilled and professional leader aboard the Parsfial III, but he's just not entertaining and engaging enough to keep as a reality TV cast member. Since Gary isn't ready for the job, here are some potential franchise choices to replace Captain Glenn.

8 Aleks Taldykin

Below Deck

It may be tough to Aleks Taldykin because he appeared on Below Deck season 1, but he would be a great replacement for Captain Glenn on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. He began working on fishing boats at 12 and obtained his first Captain's license by 19. At 20, he founded Elite Yacht Management, catering to celebrities. Captain Aleks shows off his yachting business and career on his Instagram, regularly showcasing giant luxury yachts and his fishing skills.

Unlike other alums who have changed gears after leaving Below Deck, Aleks has remained firmly in the yachting industry after serving as the First Officer over a decade ago. He has served as a Captain on various vessels and remains the CEO of Elite Yacht Management. Additionally, he works as a yacht broker with Denison Yachting, specializing in motor yachts. Captain Aleks would be a great addition to the stalwart Below Deck fans.

7 Paget Berry

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Paget Berry starred in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1, and while he was better known for the drama onboard with Ciara Duggan, he could have enough experience to take over as Captain for Glenn. He has the right CV for it, as he started yachting at the young age of 13. By 18, he ed the crew of a 27-meter sailboat in Spain, spending three years exploring the Mediterranean and climbing his way up the ladder from Deckhand to First Mate.

Paget said he didn't want to return to Below Deck Sailing Yacht, but plenty could change in a few years.

Paget also has Captain experience. When he was 22, he secured his first Captain position on a sailing catamaran. He met his former girlfriend, Ciara, while working on her family's boat, introducing her to the yachting industry as well. The couple worked together on various vessels, including the Parsifal III. While their relationship ultimately fell apart onscreen, Paget could be a great replacement for Captain Glenn.

6 Ben Willoughby

Below Deck

Ben Willoughby had a tumultuous rise to Bosun on Below Deck, but his sheer scrappiness could set him up for success as a Captain on a slightly smaller vessel like the Parsifal III. While sailing yachts exhibit different challenges to managing a superyacht, Ben could relish the opportunity to prove his worth in the franchise. Furthermore, Ben stated he wouldn't work with Captain Kerry Titheradge again, effectively cutting off his stardom on the original Below Deck show. This is an especially perplexing choice given his girlfriend Marie "Sunny" Marquis' likely continued stardom on the show in season 12.

Ben quickly went from Deckhand to Bosun on Below Deck, and he struggled to maintain leadership aboard the yacht, often complaining about Captain Kerry's micromanaging onboard. Perhaps Ben needs to put himself in the Captain's shoes to understand how difficult it is to run an entire yacht. It would either be a huge success story or a major failure.

5 Storm Smith

Below Deck Mediterranean

Storm Smith is a South African deckhand who starred in Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, and he could have the entertainment factor necessary to replace Captain Glenn. Born and raised in South Africa, he always loved the beach, especially surfing and fishing. Before venturing into yachting, Storm explored culinary and film school but ultimately returned to the high seas. He's proud of his pirate vibes.

Storm ed the crew in Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 alongside returning Captain Sandy Yawn and deckhand Mzi "Zee" Dempers, a childhood friend from South Africa. During the season, Storm was involved in a boatmance with Stew Natalya, who had plenty of drama with Chief Stew Natasha Webb. Their relationship was purely a boatmance, with Storm more focused on advancing his career than a long-term relationship.

4 Eddie Lucas

Below Deck

As another throwback to Below Deck season 1, Eddie Lucas could make a rousing comeback in the franchise to replace Captain Glenn on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. After departing the series following season 3, Eddie returned in season 8, seeking redemption after his secret tryst with Raquel "Rocky" Dakota in Below Deck season 3. The Bosun had been cheating on his then-girlfriend with Rocky, hiding their relationship in the laundry room. She later exposed him in front of everyone.

Eddie was pretty candid about his reasons for not returning in season 10. He was dissatisfied with cast ' pay and voiced concerns about how Bravo producers handled sensitive situations. It seems his concern was well-founded, given Gary's sexual misconduct allegations and Luke Jones' brash attempted sexual assault on Margot Sisson in Below Deck Down Under season 2. Beyond his reality TV career, Eddie has continued to advance professionally in the maritime industry. He currently serves as the Captain of a tugboat, meaning he has the expertise to fill in for Captain Glenn.

3 Luka Brunton

Below Deck Mediterranean

Former Bosun Luka Brunton is used to jumping in on Below Deck, meaning he could be the perfect replacement for Captain Glenn on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Hailing from Raglan, New Zealand, with nearly a decade in the yachting industry, he was the Lead Deckhand on Below Deck Down Under season 2, replacing Adam Kodra. Luka later ed Below Deck Mediterranean season 8 as a Deckhand, but he was quickly promoted to Bosun after Captain Sandy Yawn had to fire Ruan Irving.

Throughout the season, he got into a potential love triangle situation with Natalya and Jessika Asai. After his time on the show, Luka has been busy with various pursuits. He changed his look to a bleached blonde, reconnected with an ex-girlfriend, and, perhaps most importantly, has expressed openness to returning to Below Deck. He's a compelling choice for replacing Captain Glenn, though it's unclear if he's ready to rise to the rank of Captain.

2 João Franco

Below Deck Mediterranean

João Franco, hailing from Zimbabwe, is one of the first choices that comes to mind when it comes to replacing Captain Glenn. He first ed the Below Deck Mediterranean cast in season 3 as a deckhand, where he quickly got entangled in a love triangle with Stews Brooke Laughton and Kasey Cohen. João was also assertive from the start of the show, making waves with his fellow crew .

Despite some ups and downs, João returned to Below Deck Mediterranean as the Bosun, marking a promotion in his journey as a yachtie. His efforts were recognized, and by the end of the season, he was preparing to take on his first role as a Captain. João got his Captain's license after appearing on the show.

He served as a captain on a 30-meter yacht outside the franchise. João made a notable return to the franchise in Below Deck Down Under season 2, stepping in as Bosun after Luke's firing and coming in clutch for the team. He'd be a great replacement for Captain Glenn, as he's shown plenty of growth and is ready for promotion.

1 Malia White

Below Deck Mediterranean

Captain Sandy took a chance on Bosun Malia White throughout her tenure on Below Deck Mediterranean, and it's time to bring her back as the franchise's second female Captain as a replacement for Captain Glenn on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. She made her debut in Below Deck Mediterranean season 2 as a Deckhand aboard the Sirocco, where she worked her way up to Lead Deckhand throughout the season. Malia rose to Bosun in season 5, making her the first female Bosun ever in the franchise.

Unfortunately, Malia is best ed for reporting Hannah Ferrier's uned vape pen and Valium to Captain Sandy, leading to Hannah's firing. It's one of the more controversial Below Deck moments ever. Captain Sandy and Malia felt compelled to follow Maritime law, but Hannah felt blindsided and misrepresented. Malia has expressed an openness to returning to Below Deck Mediterranean, but perhaps she'd be willing to switch to Below Deck Sailing Yacht if it included a promotion. While the drama on Below Deck Down Under continues, the behind-the-scenes cast changes on Below Deck Sailing Yacht could overshadow the current series.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is available to stream on Peacock.
