With four films, the Hotel Transylvania franchise has many memorable moments, funny characters, and quotes. Dracula and his friends are the sources of many hilarious scenes, whether they are recalling their early days or trying to pull off something in the present. There are also some heartfelt quotes, like Mavis's description of what a zing is and that it needs to be cherished in the third film.

Frankenstein's fire phobia is well-known in the franchise. His fears of fire are valid, and considering how deep his phobia runs, of course he mentioned it to Mavis on her way out to see the human world for the first time.
Frankenstein has been around for many years and has seen some treacherous fires in his day, which only worsened his phobia over time. His friends frequently joke about his fear; that said, it's ironic that he was the one to catch on fire when he was always the most careful of it. By extension, it makes his quote that much more significant given it was foreshadowing for later events.
"Okay Honey, Be Safe! Bring Warm Clothes And A Sword."
Wanda - Hotel Transylvania (2012)
Wanda is the epitome of a mom, most notably in her protective nature. In the first film, the above quote is her piece of advice for Mavis, who is about to set out to see a human village on her own for the first time.
Her casual "bring a sword" in her sweet mom voice is funny, and it fits her character's maternal nature; the quote itself is memorable because it truly shows Wanda for who she is. It's also pretty cool that even with several kids of her own, Wanda still makes time for Mavis, whose own mother died many years before. In fact, Drac's friends are his family, and that extends to Mavis and vice versa. The friends will all go to extreme lengths to look out for and help one another, no questions asked.

Johnny - Hotel Transylvania 4: Transformania (2022)
In Transformania, Johnny is initially thrilled, feeling that now that he's a monster, Drac will finally accept him as part of the family. The transformation does force the two to work together in a way they hadn't before, as Drac learns to be human and Johnny learns to be a monster.
Plus, Drac was forced to confront his real feelings about his son-in-law, and truly accept him as part of his family. Johnny is famous for random sayings and stories, and for making unusual observations; his witty and easygoing nature make for some fun pop culture quotes, like the one above.
"Baby-Proofing A Guillotine? So You Cut Your Finger Off, It's Part Of The Fun!"
Eunice - Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015)
Eunice and the rest of the gang definitely have a different idea of appropriate gifts for one-year-olds than humans do. Eunice gifts Dennis a guillotine after Murray gifts him a cursed amulet; the former of which Mavis insists on baby-proofing, for good reason.
Interestingly enough, Eunice is more put off by the fact that Mavis took the time to baby-proof the dangerous toy; honestly, there's not much that can be done to make a guillotine safe, whether it's for babies or adults. Eunice seemed unconcerned about Dennis losing a finger, thinking that Dennis would find it more fun than traumatizing. It makes her quote stand out that much more due to its careless but innocent nature, as she never considered the guillotine harmful.
"A Zing Only Happens Once In Your Life, And You Have To Cherish It."
Mavis - Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018)
Mavis says the above quote to console a nervous bride, right as she is about to walk down the aisle. The third film begins with Mavis and Drac helping orchestrate the perfect wedding, showing how much Mavis has taken part in the family business between the conclusion of the second film and the beginning of the third.
The franchise introduced the concept of the zing, which includes a noticeable kind of eye sparkle when two people see each other for the first time, indicating that they are meant to be together, as they are one another's "zing." Mavis's words are heartwarming and kind as she helps out a fellow bride, and her quote is certainly Hallmark-worthy considering she emphasizes the importance of the "zing."
"I Didn't Do That."
Elderly Gremlin Woman - Multiple Films
The elderly gremlin is a familiar background character to Hotel Transylvania fans. She is famous for eating something and immediately uttering "I didn't do that", even as she has witnesses who look at her in shock. She also apparently is a sore loser, as she ate Eunice's winning bingo card in the first film.
She is able to eat anything in just one bite, including a scooter, which was pretty impressive. Her quote is reminiscent of a childlike defense mechanism; kids especially claim they didn't do something to avoid trouble, which makes this quote that much more hilarious for parents who can certainly relate.
"Hey, Murray Here May Be From Egypt, But You're The One In De-Nile."
Griffin - Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018)
Griffin has some good one-liners in the franchise, including the one above. Drac was in serious denial that he zinged for a second time with Ericka, the captain of the cruise ship Drac and the others are on. Drac continually insists that his family needs him and he'll focus on that, to which Griffin supplies the above quote.
While Drac zinged with her the moment he saw her, she didn't exactly have the same experience, and it took work before the two could ultimately be together. Griffin's quote is memorable given he inserted a corny pun into a real situation, which definitely gave the quote its own spotlight.
"I Was Not The Cause Of That."
Murray - Hotel Transylvania (2012)
While Murray is chatting with Dracula upon arriving at the hotel, Frankenstein is up to some mischief. He gets his lower half to stand behind Murray and let out a monstrous fart, to which Dracula is not amused and Murray is mortified. One of the maids, a witch, quickly sends the fart into the fireplace instead, resulting in a noticeable blast of green fire.
Murray's above quote is subtle in its humor. The insistence on his innocence makes his character endearing to audiences in his first moments onscreen, as audiences felt for him for being embarrassed almost immediately upon his arrival. While his friends were laughing to themselves, Murray maintained his innocence in good composure, instead of blabbering and freaking out entirely at the moment.
"We Don't Need To Kill Anymore. We Have Pop-Tarts."
Wayne - Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015)
Along with his buddies Wayne, Frankenstein, Murray and Griffin, with Blobby along for the ride, Drac takes on the task of showing Dennis how to be a monster. When he tries to get Wayne to kill something in front of Dennis as inspiration, Wayne isn't thrilled, later saying the above quote.
As it turns out, each attempt from Dracula and his friends doesn't work out the way Drac had hoped, given it's a different world compared to when they were first starting out. Wayne's quote is hilarious given it shows that his character tends to be lazy; it's a lot less work to hunt down a pop-tart than a wild animal, after all.
"I Don't Say 'Blah, Blah, Blah'."
Dracula - Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015)
Mavis, Johnny and Dracula are all ecstatic when Dennis says his first word. At least, Drac was excited up until he learned what the first word was. Immediately Drac defends himself, assuring the people in the room that he doesn't say that. In fact, he insists that he only says 'blah, blah, blah' when telling someone he doesn't actually say that.
However, to his delight, he catches Mavis saying those exact words to her son, affirming that Dennis heard it from his mother, and definitely not his grandfather. Drac's quote stands out because his saying 'blah, blah, blah' is a recurring joke in the franchise, and audiences easily laugh given they know he is the source of the phrase despite his insistence that he is not.
