Disney’s animated movies are full of magical locations: There are castles that belong to princesses, fantastical worlds where anything is possible and picturesque settings that fans have dreamed of moving to or at least visiting. But these stories also feature some scary locales, some less-than-ideal places, and some villains’ lairs, which would be best to avoid.
If audience were given the opportunity, they would probably love to check out five of the Disney locations that are down below. And if they were smart, they would stay far away from the five other settings that are listed out, as well.
We’d Visit: The Beast's Castle
Disney is known for its princess flicks, which show off some amazing castles. Perhaps the best one of all, though, belongs to The Beast. It is nestled in a forest, it is quite impressive, and it is home to characters such as Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, Cogsworth, and Chip.
A trip here would mean being entertained during fancy meals, having snowball fights with Belle and The Beast, and, of course, spending so many hours reading all the books in that grand library.
We’d Avoid: The Forbidden Mountain
A castle that would not be as fun to go to would be Maleficent. In Sleeping Beauty, this Disney villain lived on The Forbidden Mountain in a crumbling structure that had creepy gargoyles on it and mean minions guarding it.
Even the sky above this setting was ominous, as this evil fairy is one of the most threatening antagonists out there.
We’d Visit: Neverland
If fans follow the second star to the right and go straight on ‘til morning, they could end up in another notable locale: Neverland. Here, people never grow up, stay kids forever, and enjoy the simplicity of life.
Guests could play games and go on adventures with Peter Pan and The Lost Boys and could visit Mermaid Lagoon, all while avoiding any and all responsibilities!
We’d Avoid: The Underworld
Another villain’s abode belongs on the list of spots to avoid, and that would be The Underworld, which is where Hades lives in Hercules.
It is where people go when ing on, and it has points of interest such as the Pit of Death. That name, along with Hades’ fiery appearance and attitude, seems like a good reason to stay away.
We’d Visit: Atlantica
Every royal family has a kingdom over which they rule, but Atlantica is like no other; found far beneath the Atlantic Ocean, this underwater setting is controlled by King Triton and is full of pretty merpeople, cute sea creatures, and lush vegetation that waves in the water.
This is also where Ariel's Grotto is, meaning those who visited would get to see her secret cave and its whosits and whatsits galore.
We’d Avoid: Pleasure Island
One of the strangest places found in a Disney story was Pleasure Island. Its name sounds neat, but it is where Pinocchio and his new friend Lampwick smoked, drank, and gambled. Oh, and then they turned into donkeys.
All the little boys that ended up there turned into hee-haw-ing animals and then were sold into slavery. No, thanks… We’ll !
We’d Visit: Arendelle
In recent years, many Disney fans fell in love with Anna and Elsa’s home, Arendelle, which just seems so quaint. It has, of course, a central castle that would be awesome to explore.
It also features a village, with shops and docks and that tall clock tower. And surrounding all of this, there are gorgeous mountains, which Elsa could make sparkle even more.
We’d Avoid: The Cave Of Wonders
A memorable setting in Aladdin was The Cave Of Wonders. First of all, it is where the Genie, the magic lamp, and The Magic Carpet were all found, and it was full of other magical treasures.
However, only “the diamond in the rough” could enter, and if anyone who wasn’t worthy tried to get in, they would meet their end. The entire cavern was guarded by a big tiger's head and surrounded by sand, making it dangerous and not very inviting.
We’d Visit: Wonderland
One more Disney spot that people have surely dreamed about is Wonderland.
The one-of-a-kind characters, the talking flowers, the unusual creatures, the out-of-the-ordinary events, the tea parties, the games of croquet… One never knows what to expect in this curious land, but it definitely makes for an exciting adventure!
We’d Avoid: The Alley Cats' Apartment
Most of the places we would avoid from Disney movies are terrifying and threatening, but it seems that an apartment from The Aristocats could go on this list, as well. In this story, Duchess and her kittens were brought to this abandoned home by Thomas O’Malley, where they met Scat Cat and his Alley Cats, a jazz band.
So, it would probably be sort of gross in here, as no humans were around to clean up, and it seemed unsafe, as the cats literally fell through floors and ceilings while playing music.
