As summer 2021 is quickly coming to an end, Big Brother 23 is headed into its final weeks of strategic gameplay and fierce competition. Last Thursday, Sarah Beth Steagall became the third houseguest to get sent to the jury house. She ed previous evictees Britini D'Angelo and Derek Xiao. Even though the jury house is filling up quickly, there is still a ton of game left to be played.

So far this summer, the BB23 houseguests have been faced with two separate game-changing twists. First, they were split up into teams of four upon entering the Big Brother house back in July. Then, after they had competed alongside their team for four weeks, the twist came to an end, making room for the High Roller's Room twist. With this twist, viewers at home voted for their favorite players. Each week, the houseguests received BB Bucks in a denomination determined by the number of votes they had received. They could then trade in those BB Bucks to compete in one of three casino games in an effort to earn different rewards.

After Claire Rehfuss won the Coin of Destiny, which ultimately allowed her to overthrow Tiffany Mitchell's first Head of Household reign, the High Roller's Room twist came to an end. Alas, fans quickly began to speculate that CBS had more twists left for the remainder of the season. At first, there were rumors of a potential Triple Eviction. Big Brother's typical episode schedule includes one-hour episodes airing on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. As BB23 enters its final month, a new schedule has been released with some altercations, including a two-hour episode on Thursday, September 16, according to Heavy. This led fans to believe there could be a Triple Eviction held that night.

Julie Chen on Big Brother 23 premiere

Last summer, the first-ever Triple Eviction in Big Brother history took place during the All-Stars season. It was filled with high tensions, drama, and stress, as well as three houseguests walking out the front door. Prior to this, Double Evictions had taken place every summer on the show. With the speculation of an two-hour episode for BB23, fans became fearful that a Triple could happen again this year. Alas, longtime Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves announced last week that the Thursday, September 9 episode will feature a Double Eviction. In addition, the Thursday, September 16 episode will feature a second Double Eviction.

Double Evictions usually take place during a typical one-hour episode. Although many fans feel reassured that there won't be another triple eviction this year, it is still unknown why there'll be a two-hour episode on September 16. As the saying goes, "Expect the Unexpected."
