Nicolas Cage is set to appear in the action movie where he plays himself, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and to promote the movie, he took part in a Reddit AMA. While it's something more actors should do, as it creates a platform where their biggest fans can directly ask them the real questions they want to know the answers to, there couldn't be a better actor than Cage to take part in one.

After being on screen for more than 30 years and having so many incredible movies under his belt, Cage is unsurprisingly full of hilarious anecdotes. Between his personal favorite movies, his favorite shaped pasta, and his relationship with fans, Cage revealed a surprising amount during the AMA. And he even shed some light on Face/Off 2 and National Treasure 3.

He Likes It When People Recite His Dialogue Back To Him

Though people scream actors' iconic lines back to them on the street because they're big fans, not all actors take kindly to it. Whether it's "I'm going to steal the Declaration of Independence" from Cage has a wealth of iconic quotes, and it'd take a lot of willpower to not scream them back at the actor.

However, surprisingly, Cage doesn't actually have a problem with it and he even appreciates it. Provocatrixless asked the actor what quote Cage hates having hollered at him the most in public, and Cage replied, "I don’t have a problem with any of the quotes, I’m glad they the movie."

Apocalypse Now And Spirited Away Are His Favorite Movies

Spirited Away. Even though Apocalypse Now is directed by the actor's uncle, Francis Ford Coppola, he isn't just naming the film because of the family ties. Apocalypse Now is the most devastating and fascinating depiction of the Vietnam War.

Between Brando's haunting portrayal of Colonel Kurtz and the psychedelic visuals, Apocalypse Now still holds up today. And funnily enough, Spirited Away couldn't be more different from the war movie. The 2001 release is a heartwarming animated fairytale about a little girl who finds herself in a fantasy world.

He Spoke With Adam West About Imitating Him In Kick-Ass

Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) wielding a shotgun in Kick-Ass

Kick Ass's Big Daddy (Cage) is one of the best superhero dads, and though raising an 11-year-old girl to be a deadly superhero isn't exactly good parenting, the character cares for his daughter so much and is wildly entertaining. And most of the entertainment comes from Cage's deadpan comic delivery and deep, smooth voice.

Cage has spoken at length about Adam West's portrayal of Batman being the sole inspiration for the character. When asked about the role by BennieWilliams, Cage recalls when he met West, and he even asked the former Caped Crusader if he saw him channeling his old 60s role. West hilariously responded with "I saw you TRY to channel me!"

His Favorite Movies Of His Own Are Pig, Bringing Out The Dead, And Leaving Las Vegas

are unironically great Cage movies.

Cage won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role as a functioning alcoholic in Leaving Las Vegas, and Pig follows a troubled truffle forager who attempts to get back his kidnapped foraging pig. And many people might forget, but Bringing Out the Dead is one of the few Martin Scorsese-directed movies not starring Leonardo DiCaprio or Robert De Niro. Instead, the paramedic thriller features Cage at his most unhinged, and it's supremely underrated.

He Might Return As Ghost Rider If Marvel Approached Him

Spirit of Vengeance. The movies were ridiculed for their bad digital effects and bare-bones narratives. However, the one positive takeaway from the movies is Cage's typically uncaged performance as Johnny Blaze.

When asked by rumored to cameo in Doctor Strange 2, as Marvel Studios now have the rights back to the character.

He Wants To Work With Director Christopher Nolan

In response to a question asked by Dark Knight trilogy. And along with his long list of great movies, there's a long list of actors who want to work with him, so Cage will have to get in line.

Nolan's movies are both huge blockbuster hits and the characters also have so much depth, so a starring role in one of his movies is a golden ticket for any actor. However, Cage should be allowed to jump the queue, as a collaboration between the actor and director could be mindblowing, especially considering that Cage proved he still has an incredible acting range with Pig.

He Would Do Face/Off 2

Nicolas Cage points two golden guns in Face/Off

Face/Off is one of Cage's most iconic movies, if not the most iconic movie in his entire filmography. It perfectly balances the meticulously crafted action sequences from director John Woo, the outrageous high-concept, and an endearingly overacting performance from Cage. It's the ultimate 90s movie, and while it doesn't necessarily need a sequel, fans still want one.

DestroyingTheOrder straight-up asked the actor if he would do a sequel, and Cage gave a just as straight-up answer, "yes." Reddit went wild after that response, but just because the actor wants to do it, that doesn't mean it's ever going to happen. But fans can dream.

He Won't Do National Treasure 3

Nicolas Cage in National Treasure

Having almost the exact opposite reception to Cage's positivity towards a Face/Off sequel, fans were heartbroken by the way the actor turned down National Treasure 3. When asked by Screamerjoe if there'd be a threequel, Cage responded with, "No, the priority was to turn it into a TV show so I would say probably not," crushing every fan's hopes and dreams.

National Treasure might be disliked by critics, but general audiences love it, and it's a fun adventure movie and the kind that Hollywood doesn't make anymore. And while there is a spin-off Disney+ series on the way, it won't be the same without its blockbuster budget or Cage.

His Most Challenging Role Was Himself

Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal running in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Tons of actors should play themselves in a meta-action movie, but only an actor with so many diverse roles like Cage could pull it off. Cage doesn't just play himself in Massive Talent, but the Cage character applies things he learned from his older movies in certain sequences in the film too.

That means that Cage had to rewatch his old movies and try to get into the mind of those characters again. So when DeathCatForKudi asked what the most challenging role he ever had to prepare for was, Cage responded by saying himself for the new movie. And there's nothing more Cage than that.

Him And Charlie Sheen Went On Pasta Dates

Charlie Sheen In Two And A Half Men

JaggedOnomotomania asks what is such a niche question that it's hard to believe that any actor would have an answer for it, let alone a whole story behind it. The Redditor randomly asked Cage what his favorite pasta shape is, and the actor recalled a time when he and Charlie Sheen visited an Italian restaurant in the 90s in San Francisco.

The two actors went to the restaurant simply because they got word that it did square tube pasta. And according to Cage, they loved it so much that they went back a second time the very next day.
