MCU's slate of movies, but he would be starring in it. Now, a release update for Black Panther 3 has been shared.
Speaking with Variety at the red carpet of the Captain America: Brave New World premiere, Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore revealed that Black Panther 3 will not be released before the next Avengers movie.
According to Moore, Marvel Studios has had early talks with director Ryan Coogler, and work on the film will start after Coogler is done with his new 2025 movie, Sinners, a vampire flick starring MCU star Michael B. Jordan. Either way, Avengers: Doomsday is the priority, as it is Marvel's next big thing, but Moore makes a promise, saying, "We'll get back to Wakanda as soon as we can."
What Black Panther 3’s Release Update Means
The MCU Movie Will Take Some Time To Arrive
Nate Moore's confirmation that Black Panther 3 will not be released before the next Avengers movie is not shocking. After all, Marvel only has one possible spot for a movie to be released before May 2026's Avengers: Doomsday, with an untitled MCU movie slotted for a release on February 13, 2026. For the next Black Panther film to take that spot, Marvel would need to be ready to roll cameras on it before the first half of the year is over. However, Ryan Coogler's busy schedule means work on Black Panther 3 still has to start.

Recasting Black Panther For The MCU After Recent Reports: 10 Actors Who Could Play T'Challa
After initially not recasting T'Challa, new Black Panther reports claim Marvel is looking for Chadwick Boseman's successor, and there are great picks.
As such, there is simply not enough time for Black Panther 3 to be released before Avengers: Doomsday. That is okay, as Shuri and other characters from Wakanda will likely pop up in the Avengers film, setting the stage for the Black Panther franchise to return later. Since Marvel Studios only has vacant release dates in 2027 after Avengers: Secret Wars, Black Panther 3 will most likely have to wait for the Avengers' next two movies to tell their story before it can be released.
Our Take On Black Panther 3’s Release Update
The Film Makes More Sense Outside The Multiverse Saga
With Marvel Studios executive Nate Moore previously disputing the T'Challa Black Panther 3 rumors, it seems like Shuri will once again be the lead of the franchise. Since the character is likely to be part of the MCU's new Avengers team, Marvel will already be using Black Panther in two of the franchise's biggest projects ever. I am okay with waiting for Black Panther 3 to arrive in 2027 or 2028 after the Multiverse Saga is over. With Denzel Washington ing the film, the wait for Black Panther 3 will be more than worth it.
