At the end of season 5 of The Blacklist, Elizabeth Keen discovered that the man she believed to be Raymond Reddington was actually an imposter. This left her with many questions about the man with whom she had been working. In season 6, Liz decided to go to extreme measures to get the answers to these questions.
Some aspects of this storyline were perceived extremely well, while others left fans feeling disappointed and frustrated with some of the characters. So which of the episodes were fan-favorites and which were the worst of the season? Let's explore the fan's opinions of these episodes.
Worst: Episode 7: General Shiro (No. 116) - 8.0
With Reddington facing trial, he uses all of the resources at his disposal to try and stop the proceedings from moving forward. When jury selection begins, he tries to prepare Glen to be the perfect pick for the lawyers.
With Reddington's energy focused on his own trial, the task force hunts a Blacklister who infects people with insects, causing them to eat his victims from the inside out.
Best: Episode 11: Bastien Moreau (No. 20) - 9.0
With Reddington's trial moving forward, the best chance at saving him requires the task force to uncover a well-hidden conspiracy. This conspiracy involves an international assassination.
With evidence high-power officials would like to be kept secret from the public, the task force hopes to force them into reconsidering Reddington's execution. Meanwhile, Aram learns that Samar's condition is worse than he realized as he discovers she has been seeing a speech therapist.
Worst: Episode 16: Lady Luck (No. 69) - 8.0
Reddington is determined to discover the person who has betrayed him and turned him into the police. He puts all of his resources on tracking down the person who caused his capture, unaware that Dembe is hiding Liz's guilt from him.
The task force hunts down a woman who calls herself Lady Luck. After her husband's gambling addiction results in major injury to himself and the death of their son, Lady Luck decides to repurpose the money he won. She allows gamblers to pay off their debt by committing a murder. Unbeknownst to the gamblers, they will be the next target on Lady Luck's list.
Best: Episode 21: Anna McMahon (No. 60) - 9.0
The entire season has been building to this episode as the task force continues to try to prove Anna McMahon's involvement in the conspiracy against the President.
However, taking her down won't be easy. With homeland security in tow, Anna McMahon collects the evidence and arrests the task force, framing them for her crimes.
Worst: Episode 17: The Third Estate (No. 136) - 8.1
The task force is forced to respond when children belonging to the one percent are kidnapped and tortured by a group of individuals called The Third Estate. With Reddington determined to find the person who turned him in to the police, Dembe urges Liz to be honest with him.
Unbeknownst to Elizabeth, Ressler continues to dig into her past, searching for information about her mother.
Best: Episode 22: Robert Diaz (No. 15) - 9.1
In the season 6 finale, the task force face-off against Anna McMahon for the last time. Liz and Reddington free the team and they attempt to stop an assassination that they believe is targeting The President. When The First Lady is shot, they discover that she was actually the intended target and that The President was involved in the plan all along.
After the case has ended, Liz welcomes Agnus home, believing that it is safe now that they have solved the conspiracy. She has no idea of the danger that lurks as Reddington makes his way to Paris to meet up with Katarina. Though he intends to warn her about the KGB, Katarina attacks and abducts him.
Worst: Episode 8: Marko Jankowics (No. 58) - 8.2
The task force pursues a Blacklister has been using women to move drugs by placing pouches in their stomach so they appear to be pregnant. When not searching for this drug lord, Liz and Reddington continue to try and find the truth about Reddington but find themselves in a dangerous situation.
In prison, Reddington uses his skills to help two rival gangs put aside their differences and come to an agreement.
Best: Episode 14: The Osterman Umbrella Company (No. 6) - 9.2
As Samar's condition continues to worsen, she and Aram decide to spend some quality time together alone. Unfortunately, their vacation is cut short as assassins hired by the Mossad attempt to murder Samar.
As Samar fights for her life, she is forced to make the difficult decision to flee and leave Aram behind in order to keep him safe. This episode ends in a heartbreaking goodbye between the beloved couple and a distraught Aram furious with Reddington for helping Samar leave.
Worst: Episode 15: Olivia Olson (No. 115) - 8.2
In order to try and gain an insight into the conspiracy against the president, the task force tracks down a Blacklister named Olivia Olson. This Blacklister is known for hijacking criminal organizations and may have connections to the presidential advisor.
Meanwhile, Aram continues his vendetta against Reddington and puts a plan into place that will give him some power over Reddington.
Best: Episode 19: Rassvet - 9.2
When Liz speaks with her grandfather, Dom, he seemingly tells her the truth about everything. His story includes a tale about a young Katarina on the run. In his story, Katarina seeks help from an old friend named Ilya Koslov who helps her to safety and assumes the identity of Raymond Reddington.
Fans were excited for this episode as they believed they were getting some long-awaiting answers. But some of the information revealed in this episode would be revealed as false.
