Broly's return toBroly and Gohan were seen training together on Beerus' planet.
The inclusion of these two characters, donning new transformations and immense power-ups, gave much-needed attention to beloved fighters who, until their recent films, hadn't been very relevant to Dragon Ball's story since the 1990s. It seems both Goku and Vegeta have big plans for Broly, as they have been training him since their run-in on Planet Vampa.
However, Gohan has always had a habit of fading into the background as the story progresses. The two characters share some similarities though, and if they stick together, Broly might just help Gohan finally maintain his status among the top fighters in Dragon Ball.

Dragon Ball Explained Why Gohan Could Never Replace Goku But Most Fans Missed It
Gohan was meant to take Goku's spot as Dragon Ball's main protagonist but he failed to do so, and the reason why is evident throughout the series.
Anger Has Always Been the Greatest Asset to Gohan and Broly
Both Characters Power Up Greatly When Enraged
Gohan's greatest was always unlocked by his rage. His initial character arc throughout Dragon Ball Z was largely focused on the fact that, while enraged, the half-Saiyan was nearly unbeatable. The biggest obstacle, later solved during the Cell Saga, was his inability to trigger that anger due to Gohan's gentle nature. The opposite is true for Broly, who, through his rage, receives ultimate strength that he cannot control, only continuing to power up until he loses all sense of self.
The controlled Super Saiyan state for Broly that Goku and Vegeta were working towards during the entirety of the time between the movies Dragon Ball Super: Broly and Super Hero, was achieved in one sparring match with Gohan.
The two characters seem to have a clear understanding of what makes the other tick, and working towards even higher power by those means could result in unfathomable progress for both of them. While Gohan's anger has already led to his overwhelmingly powerful Beast transformation, it's possible that something similar is attainable for Broly. While the two, at their most powerful, are likely stronger than Goku and Vegeta at this point in Dragon Ball Super, working together might be the key to keeping them that way.
Enemies To Come Will Require Broly and Gohan To Be at Their Strongest
The final chapters of Dragon Ball Super, before entering an ongoing hiatus, saw the main cast of characters training on Beerus' planet, in order to deal with the looming threat of Black Frieza. It seems Goku and Vegeta are aware that they alone stand little chance against their familiar, improved foe, and have begun training Broly out of necessity for the impending fight. To their surprise, Gohan also arrives on the planet, having already sured the three Saiyans in strength.
The closing sequence of chapter #103, titled "A Legacy Toward the Future", undoubtedly hints at a greater involvement for Gohan in the story, and pairing him with Broly may be just what the hybrid Saiyan needs to keep himself in the upper echelon of fighters. A confrontation with Frieza sometime down the line will require everyone, including Goku and Vegeta, to improve greatly. It's currently unclear when Dragon Ball Super will resume, but it's fair to expect the main cast of fighters to grow in the series' next arc.
