Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot have swirled for years, Gellar has recently softened her stance about potentially returning to the role after decades of denying any interest.
On her Instagram, Gellar shared a post of her in pajamas that match an outfit she wore as Buffy. In season 4, episode 14 "Goodbye Iowa," written by Marti Noxon and directed by David Solomon, Buffy is seen in the comfortable nightwear. After learning a child has been killed, she announces her plans to hunt the demon who committed the murder, only to state "That probably would have sounded more commanding if I wasn't wearing my yummy sushi pajamas." The post was liked and commented on by fellow Buffy alum Emma Caulfield Ford, who shared the scene with Gellar.
What This Means For Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Gellar May Return As Buffy
The scene in question is one of the highlights of Buffy season 4. The season as a whole is inconsistent and essentially acts as a transition year between Buffy and her friends being in high school before moving on to more adult-oriented situations. The episode marks the first time that Adam, the "Big Bad" of the season, meets Buffy. This stands as an outlier, as every other major villain was introduced far earlier in their respective seasons.

I've Changed My Mind About A Buffy The Vampire Slayer Reboot If This Director's Idea Happens, Following One Of The Best Movies Of 2024
A Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot would only convince me if the idea of this acclaimed horror director happened, along with their involvement.
In December 2024, Gellar has since entered talks to reprise Buffy for a sequel series on Hulu, which is nearing a pilot order.
Our Take On Gellar's Post
It Teased Her Return As Buffy
Gellar turned down a chance to reprise her role in the audio drama Slayers: A Buffyverse Story in 2023, which featured many returning cast . However, Disney shut down a planned Buffyverse Story season 2, which led to speculation that a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot may be actively in the works now that they own the property. This now appears to be true with a Buffy the Vampire Slayer sequel series in the development stage at Hulu.
