Activision has responded to ScreenRant, noting that the leak is not accurate. The original article can be read below.
So far, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has captured my attention. Whenever I feel my interest in multiplayer waning, I can head over to the constantly updated zombies mode, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 comes to .
Revealed by famous Call of Duty leaker experimenting with Call of Duty monetization.
Black Ops 7 Is Rumored To Be Paywalling Limited-Time Modes
Paywalling LTMs Would Be a Bold Change
According to the leak, Black Ops 7 will allegedly have "more seasonal LTMs," with some of them being considered "higher value" with special rewards, and "different game mechanics/modes." This could involve events like IP crossovers with famous characters, and may even include moving over content to these LTMs. "Higher tier skins" are a potential part of this LTM scheme, which would eschew the event track that pops up during LTMs, like the current High Art event.

“Absolutely Shameful”: Diablo 4 Season 8 Battle Changes Are Getting Eviscerated Online
Blizzard made changes to Diablo 4’s battle system for Season 8, and the changes are not being received well at all by the players.
As a reminder of how things currently work in Call of Duty, everyone can participate in LTMs and events regardless of their paid battle status. You must have the battle to earn the event rewards, but there's still a free tier for everyone to claim, and you can play the LTMs as usual until they go away. Instead of being able to play the LTMs, check out the rewards, and decide on your own whether or not to buy the track; this alteration wouldn't let you even in on the LTMs in the first place.
Battle Paywalling Is Terrible For CoD & Its Fans
Splintering the Player Base Rarely Works Out
Not many games lock LTMs to battle es, and Call of Duty, as is the case with many practices, could be a trend-setter if this happens. Many publishers don't implement this concept to keep as many players in queues as possible, which improves matchmaking. Since everyone is in the same boat, there are more people to play LTMs regularly with. This could be a terrible move overall if it pans out, as players who have already purchased the game could get locked out of modes on a regular, seasonal basis.

Other Games Should Learn From Marvel Rivals' New Battle
Marvel Rivals is already making waves in the hero shooter scene, with this minor change giving the game a huge advantage over the competition.
The big issue here is an impending source of FOMO. Season es already invoke this infamous feeling, but locking folks out of genuinely cool modes unless they pay up (on top of the microtransactions and price of the game) would make for one of the most inconsistent Call of Duty experiences to date. That's especially the case if they plan on using this paywall across multiple modes beyond core multiplayer.
Ideally, if this change happens early on in the game's life cycle, Activision will look at the and adjust for future seasons. We'll have to see how this plays out in the next iteration of Call of Duty: Black Ops. The battle may paywall special limited-time modes, which could have a feel, similar to Fortnite, where Epic Games crams miniature season es inside their season (though Epic Games doesn't lock LTMs). Either way, it looks like the video game industry is once again turning up the heat when it comes to es and monetization.
