Call Of Duty: Warzone Season 3 - Release Date
The release date of the highly anticipated update has been officially announced by Activision in a release to the press. According to the company, the Season 3 update for Call of Duty: Warzone is set to arrive on April 3. This is the date when all the major changes across most of the Call of Duty games will occur. On this day, changes will take place in Warzone, Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer modes, the Zombies mode, and even Warzone Mobile. This is also the day when limited-time content from Season 2 will permanently leave the games.
Call Of Duty: Warzone Season 3 - Rebirth Island & Game Modes
The most notable aspect of the Season 3 update for Warzone itself is the return of Rebirth Island as the main combat destination for the battle royale. The map, which was first released as Alcatraz in Call of Duty: Blackout, is a fan-favorite, and its return is very anticipated. The arrival of Rebirth Island also brings forth the update to the Ranked Resurgence season, which will occur on this specific map. For Ranked Play, players will have to master the new version of Rebirth Island using the Resurges rules they’ve grown accustomed to.
Additionally, Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone comes accompanied by several smaller updates, including biometric scanners, smart displays, weapon trade stations, and even a new Resurgence Champion’s quest, set on Rebirth Island. The iconic map will also be affected by varying times of day, which can significantly alter a player’s approach to strategy. Infils will also occur on landmarks, such as the Lighthouse, the Prison’s roof, and the Watch Tower. Activision has mentioned there will be “optimized combat” for Season 3’s Rebirth Island, though it has not gone into detail about what that entails, specifically.
Call Of Duty: Warzone Season 3 - Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer & Zombies Updates
Aside from the battle royale mode, the Season 3 update will also affect Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer modes. In fact, the game will get six new 6v6 maps for players to battle in. Activision mentions that three of them are brand-new, while one of them is a remaster, and the remaining two are “repurposed” points of interest from Vondel and Rebirth Island – this means these last two are likely smaller portions of these maps adapted for the 6v6 encounters that take place outside of Call of Duty: Warzone’s battle royale genre.
