After Terry Silver's two losses in Cobra Kai season 5, it's worth wondering if Johnny Lawrence is among the characters capable of beating him. After positioning himself as the ultimate villain of the Netflix series, Silver lost not one, but two fights in season 5. Losing to both Chozen and Daniel revealed that The Karate Kid Part III villain is nowhere near as unbeatable as he may have seemed in season 4.
Of his three main rivals in Cobra Kai season 5, only Johnny didn't get a chance to fight Silver. Instead, the glory of beating the character went to both Chozen and Daniel. As a result, Johnny's defeat in Cobra Kai season 4 went unavenged. Their confrontation was a largely uncompetitive battle that ended with Johnny suffering a rather humiliating loss. At the time, it seemed obvious that Terry Silver was the person to beat in the series, but after the season 5 finale, Silver's superiority over Johnny is now in doubt.
Johnny Can Probably Beat Terry Silver (Despite Losing In Season 4)
While it is true that Johnny lost to him before, it shouldn't be forgotten that Daniel lost his first fight with Silver as well. But that didn't stop him from coming back and winning the rematch. Similarly, Johnny might be able to obtain the same result if he were to get a second fight with Silver in Cobra Kai's future. If Daniel can beat Silver, Johnny should also be able to pull this off, especially since their fight in season 4 made it abundantly clear that he and Daniel are on the same level now. Plus, what Johnny did to Silver's senseis in the finale say a great deal about what he can accomplish when he pushes himself.
One reason why a Johnny vs. Silver rematch could play out differently relates to what happened the first time the two came to blows. Johnny, who came to the dojo unprepared for a fight, was blindsided by Silver. Caught unawares, Johnny was at a disadvantage against Silver, who quickly took control and proceeded to dominate his opponent. As Johnny himself noted in season 5, he was "sucker punched" by Silver. In light of this fact, it's not impossible that Johnny would win a potential rematch in Cobra Kai season 6.
Will Johnny Ever Get A Rematch With Terry Silver?
From the looks of things, there isn't a need for Cobra Kai's characters to continue clashing with Terry Silver. However, his return hasn't been ruled out. Depending on the strength of the evidence against him, his lawyers may be able to keep him out of prison. But even if that happens, it's hard to imagine Thomas Ian Griiffth's Terry Silver somehow regaining control of Cobra Kai and keeping his role as the show's main villain. That being said, he could be around as a secondary antagonist who continues causing trouble for their dojo in some capacity. If that happens, an opportunity might come for Johnny to get another shot at the villain.
