Players are given the option to capture or kill a monster while on Monster Hunter Rise. This guide will show players which method they should choose between the two. Monster Hunter Rise starts off fairly simple as the 1-star quests require players to gather materials or takedown lower-level enemies. As the stars begin to increase, so will the challenge, but also the rewards. Fairly early into the game, the tutorial teaches the players how they can capture monsters instead of finishing them off. Some missions may require that players capture the monsters for the task so make sure to read that before starting a mission. Getting that far into a mission and killing your captured target is nothing more than a massive time waster. There are key differences and benefits that come with killing or capturing a monster. This guide will show players the pros and the cons of doing each.
Capturing a monster will require players to be more precise with their options. Players will need to get traps and get monsters into a specific set of health before they surrender. On the other hand, players can just beat monsters into submission, focusing more on the combat of the game. Although, each version has its own benefits and cons that this guide will break down. Should you capture or kill?
Capture or Kill Creatures In Monster Hunter Rise (Which is Best)
Here are the pros and cons of selecting to capture or kill a monster.
- Capture: Using this method is much faster and will give more rewards to the player at the end of a mission. Although, players will also need to constantly restock their inventory with traps and supplies every mission. This may also prevent players from harvesting certain parts of the body of the monster (tail, horns, etc). These are typically tied to quest goals.
- Killing: This method takes longer and won't give the player as many rewards at the end. Although, players can focus on the combat instead of having to micro-mange their inventory. It also allows for players to harvest parts of its body with more time to spare.
Ultimately, casual players who focus more on the story and completing missions will benefit more from killing monsters but players who want the best gear and items should capture monsters instead. Trying to be the best in the game isn't always the goal for everyone. Sometimes players just want to attack some monsters for the fun of it. The decision is yours.
