Dragon-Type Pokemon are extremely useful for trainers who wish to battle in appear near endgame areas at extremely high levels. The same can be said about Pokemon Go. While trainers don't have to battle and weaken a Pokemon before capturing it in this game, their catch rates are typically very low, many of them running away before the trainer has a chance to catch it. Here's how players can capture Dragon-Type Pokemon in Pokemon Go.
As new generations get introduced in Pokemon Go over time, not every Dragon-Type Pokemon is available in the game just yet. Currently, only 27 Dragon-Type Pokemon exist in the game, including creatures like Dragonite to Alolan Exeggutor. If trainers truly want to add these creatures to their team, there are much better alternative methods when it comes to catching them rather than hoping to run into one in the wild. Running into one in the wild is extremely rare. Here are other methods for capturing Dragon-Type Pokemon.
Catching Dragon Types in Pokemon Go
Here are some helpful alternative methods of catching Dragon-Types in Pokemon Go.
- Hatching Eggs: Trainers can find lower level Dragon-Types by walking around with 10k eggs. Candies can be earned by catching or hatching more of this type of Pokemon or by walking with it as their buddy. This includes Pokemon like Dratini, Bagon, and Gible. It's still a rare find, but much easier than the wild.
- Battling in Raids: This is especially helpful for capturing Dragon-Type legendary Pokemon. Players will need at least a group of 7-10 to be victorious in a legendary raid. This includes Pokemon like Rayquaza, Latios, Latias, and Dialga.
- Trading: Trading is not only a great way to make friends but an alternative way to get Dragon-Type Pokemon. Trading, while effective, requires that the player also have something worthwhile to trade with.
Pokemon Go continues to thrive during a global pandemic. This is due to players dishing out cold hard cash to keep playing even though they are stuck indoors. Community Day continues as scheduled with an "at home" version where players can play from the comfort of their homes. Although, the best way to play is by exploring the world around them. It may be a while before players can enjoy stepping out into the outside world to play Pokemon Go, but it will be very much worth the wait.
