Josh Martinez is dishing on all the "messy" hookups that went down on The Challenge: Spies, Lies, & Allies. After competing in cold, harsh weather conditions last season, it looks like the cast returned to season 37 ready to party. Josh detailed the house ambiance and how it made for the perfect setup to spark romances. There was so much canoodling going on that Josh says he "lost count" of how many of his castmates hooked up with each other.
With a new set of fresh faces ing the returning veterans on Spies, Lies, & Allies, there was sure to be a lot of in-house chemistry going on. The new season split up the cast into teams of two with one man and one woman. With the cast consisting of reality TV veterans from 14 hit shows, the house of strong personalities kicked things off on The Challenge with a bang. Cory Wharton has already revealed how the players were partying so hard that it led to the first-ever alcohol restriction on the cast. Cast were given drink tickets and couldn't get any more drinks after using all of them.
Now, Josh revealed just how extreme the party vibes were on season 37. “Right off the rip, you see so many hookups,” Josh revealed on Us Weekly's Nany Gonzalez and Kaycee Clark shared their first on-screen kiss. The new couple confirmed their romance on social media ahead of the new season. Now, fans are getting their first view of the pair and their budding relationship. It comes after Kaycee broke up with her longtime girlfriend, who accused her of cheating with Nany.
Additionally, the premiere saw Ashley Mitchell and Nelson Thomas reveal that they’ve been hooking up. Fessy Shafaat and newcomer Amanda Garcia also engaged in a makeout session. Josh credits the in-house hookups to the ambiance in the house. “We were in one of the sickest houses we’ve ever been in, there’s the hottest cast that has ever been in the house and we all came from quarantine. So people were hooking up left and right,” Josh explained. “I mean, I lost count, like, day five of who was hooking up with who. Everybody was just touching everybody and hooking up in every single corner.”
Josh also teased the romance he started on The Challenge: Spies, Lies, & Allies with a fellow Big Brother alum. "I built a really good connection with Esther [Agunbiade]," Josh revealed. "Esther was one of my favorite people in that house. She’s just so fun and so funny to be around." It's been a few seasons since Josh has dated someone in the house. Viewers will get a chance to see if Josh and Esther's fling makes it through the season and doesn't get a "messy" as some of the other couples.
The Challenge: Spies, Lies, & Allies airs Wednesdays at 8 PM ET on MTV.
