Josh Martinez is back for another shot at victory on season 37 of MTV's The Challenge: Spies, Lies, & Allies. Despite never being crowned a winner, Josh has remained a standout on the show due to his devotion to the game, emotional rants, and in-house quarrels. Plus, his history in reality television has garnered him immediate hip into one of the strongest alliances in the house. Here's everything to know about the five-time competitor.
Josh made his MTV debut after scoring his first win on season 19 of Josh took a major risk in the end that awarded him the win in a 5-4 vote. After Big Brother, the Miami native enjoyed a small role on The Bold and the Beautiful before ing MTV's The Challenge. Josh has competed on War of the Worlds, War of the Worlds 2, Total Madness, Double Agents, and most recently, Spies, Lies & Allies.
While Josh made history as the first Latino and Cuban to win Big Brother, Josh hasn't had the same luck over on The Challenge. Aside from a few flirty romances and huge blowouts with the likes of Chris "CT" Tamburello and Devin Walker-Molaghan, Josh has never even made it to a final. Despite being included in the Big Brother alliance with Fessy Shafaat and Kaycee Clark, Josh's alliance have made their way to a final while Josh has had to watch from home. In his show debut on War of the Worlds, Josh was sent home first after coming in last place on the first mission. Josh returned for War of the Worlds 2 and made it a lot further in the game before suffering a crushing elimination loss to Jordan Wiseley at the End of the Rope challenge.
In Double Agents, Josh's alliance with Fessy and Kaycee took them to the final. While Josh didn't make it to the end, he finally broke his elimination loss streak with a win against Medhie Harris. Josh has already teased all the "messy" hookups that went down on Spies, Lies, & Allies. But viewers are more concerned with learning if Josh finally makes it to the final this time around. On Instagram, Josh likes to share highlights from his appearance on the show. "Thriving at Being an Adrenaline Junkie one Mission at a time," Josh captioned a few still shots from the show.
After Fessy and Kaycee's embarrassing loss on Double Agents' final challenge, the Big Brother squad is back for vengeance on Spies, Lies, & Allies. With a string of newbies and Big Brother alums, Josh has more players to choose from when it comes to maintaining his alliance. Hopefully, Josh makes it further in the competition than his friends and even possibly scores his first big win. He has certainly shed more than enough blood, sweat, and tears over the game.
The Challenge airs Wednesdays at 8 PM ET on MTV.
