Laurel Stucky is a long-term The Challenge veteran with a knack for puzzles, endurance, and brute strength, and we've gathered information about why she probably won't return to the show. We've also found out what she's doing these days. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Stucky is ending her The Challenge career after eleven daily wins, nine elimination wins, and several steamy in-game affairs, Stucky is a classic-era The Challenge competitor; however, she may have peaked in her The Challenge career. Her reality TV departure signaled her desire to shift career paths. Stucky's recent decisions may have been influenced by backlash over a racist tweet.
Stucky originally ed Fresh Meat II in 2010, before g on for five additional seasons and winning The Challenge: Free Agents with a rapid scurry up a very snowy peak. She gained a following for her rivalry-turned-friendship with fellow veteran Cara Maria Sorbello, who decided to take a break from the show in 2019. Both women benefited from their feud in of getting screen time. It seems natural that people approaching the middle of their life might not be as interested in doing MTV content. However, in Sorbello's case, mental health seemed like a pivotal factor in her decision to step away. Stucky was highly critical of Sorbello and advocated for her departure from the show, while also acknowledging the decent elements of their friendship. At the same time, castmates like CT Tamburello have carried on as show staples and experienced triumphs and perils galore.
Laurel's exit does seem to relate to backlash over her offensive Tweet. While quoting Rihanna's "Needed Me," Stucky wrote out the "n-word," disappointing fans and colleagues. She probably disappointed MTV producers, too. Stucky is not the first The Challenge contestant to be asked not to return due to problematic and politically incorrect behavior. Dee Nguyen was edited out of the majority of The Challenge: Total Madness and MTV severed all ties with her after her string of highly insensitive comments. She had claimed she was anti-racist for losing her virginity to a person of color. Co-star Bayleigh Dayton was quick to call out Nguyen for "posting for clout about the death of black people."
While Laurel's attendance record on recent seasons isn't as good as it used to be, she's also made it clear that her life no longer revolves around The Challenge. In 2020, Stucky ed ESPN's #1 Challenge Podcast "Le Batard & Friends." More recently, she has been practicing her guitar skills and taking pandemic ski strips. Although her verified Instagram is currently set to private, she's still as active as ever.
There are some fans who believe that she will return to the franchise for The Challenge: All Stars season 2, based on a possible hint from Stucky herself. In some recent Instagram Stories, she wore an All Stars t-shirt. While that might not have been a clue, it's possible that she was trying to share her future plans. However, MTV might not be on the same page when it comes to her All Stars ambitions.
