Resident Evil fans in Japan are able to pre-purchase an even pricier special edition. As reported by character's latest design. Purchasing the coat by itself serves as another possibility, since it, too, is available to preorder on Capcom's storefront, costing a grand total of 159,731 yen (about $1,540).
ittedly, this is an exorbitant amount of money for what appears to be a regular wool coat. That it doesn't even have buttons makes the pricing seem all the more egregious. Resident Evil fans who are in the market for a new coat and want to dress like their favorite character would probably be better served by scouring online stores for something that looks fairly similar.
The wait to see Chris Redfield and his expensive new coat in action is nearly at an end. Last week, Capcom hosted Resident Evil Showcase, a short digital event wherein the publisher revealed a new trailer, gameplay footage, and PlayStation 5. A separate demo is slated to arrive sometime this spring for all platforms.
Resident Evil Village launches on May 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
