Lucasfilm releases a new trailer for even fixing Jar Jar Binks, there's plenty for viewers to enjoy in The Clone Wars.

Many were disappointed when The Clone Wars was prematurely cancelled after an abbreviated sixth season on Netflix, which is why there was much celebration when it was announced the show would return for a seventh and final run on Disney+. During the 2019 D23 Expo, it was confirmed the new episodes would be available in February. With that release date fast approaching, Lucasfilm puts out a new preview that gives fans a greater idea of what to expect.

Today, Lucasfilm shared the trailer and a new poster on their various social media channels, confirming the season starts streaming on February 21. You can watch the preview in the space below:

The trailer teases a fittingly epic and ominous conclusion to the series, with Maul threatening the end of the Jedi and the Republic. A darker tone for The Clone Wars final season certainly seems appropriate, considering its proximity to Revenge of the Sith. Audiences know this overall story doesn't have a happy ending, so it'll be interesting to see how these episodes play out. Though Clone Wars is an animated show, it doesn't shy away from tackling more serious and mature themes (which is a big part of its appeal across all Star Wars fans). That element is present here, primarily highlighted by Ahsoka's conflicted feelings about what the Jedi have become and the clone troopers' thoughts on the war itself. The Clone Wars will of course deliver all the grand action and spectacle viewers have come to expect, but there's usually a healthy amount of substance to balance out the style.

Following Solo's poor box office performance and struggling to match The Mandalorian's success with their other originals. It remains to be seen if The Clone Wars attracts as large a viewership as its live-action counterpart, but odds are it will deliver the goods.
