Thanks to developer Treyarch, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is getting a new Zombies Mode. While the new Zombies mode will still have some of the same features that fans of the series have come to expect, it's also getting some big changes. Here's everything to know about differences from past versions.

The main story of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War concerns 1980s Cold War tensions between the United States and Soviet Russia. The game comes with many different modes, including several new multiplayer modes and features. The popular Zombies Mode is also making a comeback, although fans should expect several noticeable differences.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Zombies Mode, players will wield weapons from the 1980s to fend off hoards of zombies. The usual four-player co-op is still present in this iteration of Zombies Mode, as well as familiar features like Perks and Pack-a-Punch machines. However, there's no longer a limit to how many Perks players can use, which will assuredly add to the craziness of Black Ops Cold War's new Zombies Mode.

The newly-revealed Zombies Mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will also feature field upgrades, which offer offensive buffs to healing and reviving abilities. Equipment in Zombies Mode can be found or crafted, which means players can even make their own grenade launchers or explosive bows. There's also a new Exfil feature, which allows players to call in a helicopter to rescue them. However, this will drastically increase the number of zombies that spawn and squads who survive can earn special rewards. Check out the video below for a breakdown on how this works:

Zombies Mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War also has a story mode. Set in Die Maschine, players are a member of a CIA-backed group called Requiem. A Soviet-led division called Omega Group serves as Requiem's rivals. The graffiti- and neon-colored Die Maschine has a nice, 1980s retro feel, which is perfect for taking on swarms of the undead with some of the crazy new weapons the mode offers. There's also cross-gen cross-play, which should make queueing up for a squad go quickly.

Overall, there's a lot for people to be excited about in the newest Zombies Mode. The popular mode returns when Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War releases later this year.
