A common puzzle players encounter in Pathfinder: Way of the Righteous appears once again through a cave near The Core of the Riddle, a location off The Gray Road that hosts another set of sliding stone slabs that must be placed in a proper order to unlock rewards. This spot may be found west of Wintersun, but players may only complete the puzzle after acquiring its pieces from another area called the Ravaged Long House southwest of that town. Aligning the slabs found from the Long House in the puzzle to correctly match certain indicators gives players crates of items to strengthen their party, as well as progress toward the "Heart of Mystery" quest chain.
Each stone piece that players collect has two sides, with a different symbol that must match specific requirements in order to solve the puzzle in its entirety. Players are limited through the rules of the puzzle, which are determined by column/row slabs below and to the right of the main square where players insert their stones.
Similar to the Conundrum Unsolved puzzle in Pathfinder WotR, players have to follow the guidelines set in these depressions away from the puzzle, making sure their slabs are constricted to only include symbols matching the row or column shown. For example, the depression to the right has three distinct symbols, telling players that the row directly horizontal to the left must include at least one of those three icons.
Solving the Core of the Riddle Puzzle in Pathfinder: WotR
The lower column has a symbol resembling a hashtag, restricting players from arranging their slabs in a pattern that does not include the same icon in that formation. The three drawn designs on the right row depression indicate the same limitation for that row. It is recommended that player begins arranging their stones in this Pathfinder WotR puzzle from the lower-left, since it will be much easier to focus on the first parameter rather than the second.
Out of the two parts to a single slab, one will be orange, while the other remains a dull beige color. Although this may seem important, the only indicator players must worry about are the icons on every stone.
Following the above image will lead players to the correct solution to this puzzle, leading to a chest with three rewards for the player's efforts. For starters, a +3 Starknife gives players a good weapon for their party in Pathfinder: WotR with offensive builds, while a Potion and Elven note provides a more universal utility. Players are able to give the Elven note to the Old Storyteller to progress through additional quest lines, encouraging players to solve the Core of the Riddle puzzle even more in Pathfinder: Way of the Righteous.
