Cyberpunk 2077 has finally managed to redeem itself by landing one of the most coveted titles in the video game industry. It's no secret that when CD Projekt Red's ambitious open-world RPG first launched in 2020 it was an unmitigated disaster defined by its broken state that was riddled with bugs, glitches, and incomplete content. Yet over the last three and a half years, the developer has been dedicated to salvaging the game, releasing plenty of post-launch updates that not only fixed many issues but fundamentally improved several problematic gameplay mechanics.

As spotted by PC Gamer, Cyberpunk 2077 now boasts a review rating of "Overwhelmingly Positive" on Steam, meaning that 95% of the reviews s published about the game in the last thirty days have been positive.

It's incredibly rare to see Steam games sport the title and most of the ones that do are generally indie projects with smaller communities. Cyberpunk 2077's Quest Design Lead Pawel Sasko took to X (formerly Twitter) to thank players for their praise, noting that he always believed in the game before thanking s for affording the game a second chance despite its incredibly disappointing launch.

Perhaps the biggest turning point for Cyberpunk 2077 came with the launch of its massive 2.0 Update that reworked several in-game systems and progression to allow players more customizations in how they built and played protagonist V. This patch also coincided with the release of the Phantom Liberty DLC that added an entirely new region to Night City as well as an in-depth story that starred Idris Elba. While those two factors were impressive feats in their own rights, they also represent the last pieces of content players can expect to see added to Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that it has no more plans to further expand upon its RPG, noting that it's instead the codename Project Orion. The game is still in the very early stages of development, so it likely won't be released for a while yet but knowing that it exists at all should be a relief to those worried about the franchise's future.

Those who still want more Cyberpunk 2077 are in luck because while CD Projekt Red has stated that it has no intention to release more major content updates for the game, it may launch smaller patches in the future. if those aren't enough, players can also turn to mods to further customize the experience. Cyberpunk 2077 has one of the most active modding scenes as the player base is constantly creating new add-ons to further flesh out the experience.
